If the market stays up at the close today as much as it is now I'm going to post another rankings update over the weekend.

EDITED AT 5:45 PM SATURDAY, 1/5/19: If you looked at your ranking this morning and then looked at it again later, you may have noticed some changes. I got to looking at some cells in my spreadsheet this afternoon and discovered a bunch of garbage in a line of cells that affected the poster "DawgCountry" results. When I corrected the formula in the cells for his performance numbers he moved up considerably in the rankings which moved down other posters by one place in the standings.

I have no idea how those cells got changed or when but I THINK I've fixed the problem. Please look carefully at your numbers and let me know if you see a problem with your numbers.

I've posted the YTD performance % of every stock in our game on the next page. Take a minute and compare the numbers on that list to your stocks. Make sure the numbers for your stocks under your name on the rankings list below agrees with the numbers on the next page. Thanks.

Updated rankings as of close of trading on 1/4/19.

This update shows a significant shakeup in the rankings. The player making the biggest improvement in his ranking was raw dog who improved his position by 23 places moving up from 44th place to 21st place in the standings.

The player who dropped in the rankings the most was Hussss who dropped 27 places going from 13th to 40th in the standings.

The + or - number next to your name is the movement you made in the rankings from the previous day. For example, a "+3" means you moved UP 3 places in the standings. A "-5" means you dropped 5 places in the standings. A "0" means you remained in the same position as you were from Thursday's standings. I did the changes in rankings manually so let me know if I got your change wrong.

Of course it's after only 3 trading days and yesterday saw the Dow Jones up 3.29% (+746.94 points), the NASDAQ up 4.26% (+275.35 points) and the S&P 500 Index up 3.43% (+84.05 points).

The markets had a good quarter yesterday.....

The Dow Jones closed at 23,433.16, the NASDAQ closed at 6,738.86 and the S&P 500 at 2,531.94.

If you want to compare your YTD performance to the market averages, after three trading days in 2019, year-to-date the Dow Jones 30 Industrials Average is up +.45%, the NASDAQ is up +1.56% and the S&P 500 Index is up +1.00%.
