I know. If they released good news it probably would have continued tanking. Buy the rumor, sell the news, or good news is bad news and bad news is bad news, or some shite like that.

I have been watching it and may get in soon.

I've been trying to catch up on this thread.

Outside of potentially being a little more old fashioned, is there anything about this stock to suggest that it should be dropping like this? I mean, this is pretty insane

Wasn't the price of EXXI around $15 when I first posted in this thread about the significant insider selling taking place?

Thanks. And it's at 11.40 as I post this. Down over 20% in about 3 weeks. Ouch! I'm surprised I didn't buy a ton of it 3 weeks ago.

I never put much stock into "price targets" although they seem to swing stocks when they are released. One reason why is this:

The stock presently has a consensus rating of Hold and a consensus price target of $24.73.

So, let me get this straight, you have a stock with a price tag of 10.40, and you expect the price to more than double in a year, but yet they rate it a hold? At what price does it need to reach to become a buy?

Also, still watching this and SDRL like a hawk! Just scared to make any type of move yet...

Certainly others here could answer this better than me, but maybe they think the stock price has not hit the bottom yet?

It's going to continue to get pounded. They are going forward paying down debt rather than increasing capex. Actually they decreased capex.

Decrease in capex is a knife for exploration companies share prices.

Also there was production release in their mid range of projections due to some technical oil equipment stuff.

Anyway, I'm going to wait a while and buy more.

Maybe shouldn't have waited....

ETA: Make that up OVER 2% today.

ETA2: I see what happened.....Guggenheim raised EXXI to a BUY from HOLD this morning.
