Who believes any government report these days? Either party puts fingers on scale.

One of the more interesting, and sudden, flips in stance I’ve ever seen is with conservatives and inflation data. I’ve been a libertarian for about twenty years. For those two decades, it was nearly an article of faith among both libertarians and conservatives that the government calculation of inflation was intentionally massaged to significantly underrepresent the true rate of inflation. Then I seemingly woke up one day to see “conservatives” claiming that government was massaging the numbers to overrepresent the true inflation rate… for reasons…

As always, what a time to be alive.

it’s also fascinating to watch MAGA flip flop on when and which “experts” they “trust”, as well as media.

WSJ has been dragged through the mud over in the twilight zone because of their dunking on tariffs.

The BLS Jobs report showed that there was an increase of 139,000 jobs in the month of May, which was a little above market expectations of 130,000. Employment gains in March and April were revised lower by a combined 95,000. The unemployment rate remained at 4.2%, matching estimates. Average weekly earnings were up 0.4% for the month and up 3.9% year over year.

Just another 95k revision lower

You’re a bit of an amorphous populist culture warrior. That which you are, do, and want is good and desirable and should be supported and encouraged; that which you are not, don’t do, and don’t want is bad and undesirable and should be repressed. You don’t appear to have any foundational or over-arching political or economic philosophy beyond that.

Which is why, no matter how inconsistent Trump is, you still wholeheartedly support him. Even when he utterly reverses positions, it doesn’t bother you in the least, because all you really care about is that you perceive him to be “fighting for people like you”.

I just quickly skimmed the first two pages of our respective post histories; both your propensity and capacity to project is honestly a bit impressive

Show a single post where you support ANYTHING Trump does. Just one.

I certainly don’t agree with many of the things Trump does, but I see your posts across many boards and you are ate up with TDS. You also aren’t nearly as smart as you think you are……..

The problem is that, while I agree with a host of things Trump says he wants to do, he either doesn't actually do them (champion short, single issue bills; seriously address the debt; etc.) or he does it in an asinine way. As an example, I think tons of grant funding can be cut, but simply announcing with no notice that you're pausing all grant funding is very, very stupid. While I'm certain something exists, I can't think offhand of an issue that Trump has nailed both the idea and the execution simultaneously. With that said, you say you see my posts "across many boards" and that I'm "ate up with TDS". Mind pointing to a few? Because like I said, I just skimmed through a couple of pages of my posts; very few even obliquely referenced Trump, and those that did, generally weren't insulting in any way. They simply discussed what was going on.

Now, with all that said: did you really just burn a two year old alter with that garbage first post? Jesus on a fricking Triscuit

Yay, we made it to the part of the thread where SDV ignores objective reality while pretending as though he's correct, nonetheless
