Hopefully we finish strong. Damn the penny flippers. We should be at least $3 by now. I don't think enough people really understand how SLI is different from the other jr lithium companies and the traditional mining methods. They need to call themselves "extractors" and not "miners". Even people here think they're going to be doing evaporative ponds and actual mining. Retards.

The market never reacts to Standard news like I'd expect.

We've got a nice PR on a big green day for the sector, and we're somehow still lagging way behind.

Hopefully some sane money comes in aggressive at the end of the day to catch up to the sector and finish around 10%.

That's my hope and maybe after hours. This is big news, I thought we'd be up 20% today.

I don't know guys. I certainly haven't been sitting over here worried that the tech license was hanging in the balance

Eta We still don't know what it'll cost and it's still projected to take 3 years to make us some money. I'm glad with the steady progress but not sure why this one would have excited the market

Was hoping for more with the rest of the sector doing well today. Oh well. Like you said, still a lot of unknowns. I'm gonna start trading the swings.

I hear you. I saw Piedmont announced more than doubling their production today and Lithium Americas closed on their $2.3B DoE loan today too. So at least we lagged those two for good reason.

Hoping we get the royalty decided on 5Nov and that opens the gates for something to happen with Phase 1A. Not that I really believe Phase 1A will happen first (or at all) but they're talking like SWA's DFS isn't expected until mid 25 and ETx assessment "sometime in 2025" so not sure what we can expect in the short term from those 2.

Gradually trusting these guys more

Yeh I'd definitely love some Phase 1A news.

That being said, this most recent PR doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies for Lanx project. Not that I've had them for a while, anyway. But the PR branded SWA as "the first commercial DLE project in NA". If SWA is the first, that means Lanxess probably isn't the first. I did the math.

ETA: And to be clear, Lanxess project getting mothballed is just a bummer for short term stock price, more selfish reasons. Since they have the seed money now, I do think it's probably better to just focus on the bell cow rather than devote a lot of resources to a Lanxess plant that will be peanuts in comparison. Phase 1A priorto was more just a feasibility exercise, one that could be used to hook a big fish for capital for the big project. But now that the fish is already in the boat, SLI doesn't need that project nearly as much.

I've been wondering which is more likely

a) Phase 1A is ready to progress but for the royalty.
b) SLI has Phase 1A on the back burner until lithium prices improve.
c) Equinor insists that SLI's focus be on SWA and not split with 1A.

Once the royalty comes that'll rule out option a.

I agree that Phase 1A would be nice for selfish near-term reasons. Them stalling/skipping it doesn't concern me in the slightest. Many months ago you framed the Lanxess project as a sort of glorified pilot plant to further prove commercial viability in order to get to the big projects. I can't thank you enough for that framing since Phase 1A has seemingly evaporated while SWA has progressed just fine without it. Kept me sane

I feel like i remember that Phase 1A was funded for "Detailed Design." So all that was waiting for was the Final Funding call. Im guessing the royalties issue was the only thing getting in the way.

So once Final funding is approved, Long lead time items can be purchased and potentially start on bidding the project out.

IDK, maybe I made that up.

She's bounced really hard off $2.40 yesterday and today. Seems like it's testing that as support and it's holding up. That was formerly the resistance that knocked us back down in early October. Good sign that it broke thru and turned to support.

No specifics on what the concentration actually is in this article, but seems that it is a brine source so SLI might fit in the picture.

Massive lithium discovery in California could be boon for US supply

quote:

The Salton Sea region of Southern California is currently home to significant geothermal electricity generation. An analysis by a California state commission in 2020 found that the region's lithium concentration in the geothermal brines that are a byproduct of electricity generation is believed to be the highest in the world.
