Yeah I will be watching the webcast live as well. Most curious to see if he touches on the Koch relationship and any updated timeline to commercial production.

Yup just tuned in.
Not sure if there will be a Q&A but if anyone has any questions I’ll try to submit.

Meeting is starting.
Just scrolled through the slides and doesn’t look like much/any new info. Seems like they are going to go into the carbon capture tech in a little more depth. Some talk about partners (Lanxess and Koch).
Will take notes, Mintak just started talking.

+1. New slide on Koch and carbon capture, but nothing on updated timelines on the JV or on commercial production from the first plant.

Any talk of how their DriFit line of apparel is selling?

When they talk about Koch, it will beg the question as to what 'rapidly advance' really means.
Posted on 1/10/22 at 12:51 pm to igoringa
RM said that they started talking to Koch in the spring of '21.

"Stay tuned, more to come" on investments and partnerships

Think I heard this right…they’re hoping for FID in 2H of this year. Oiy.
Posted on 1/10/22 at 12:59 pm to Elusiveporpi
FID on plant #1 in second half "we hope".
That is a push

RM said hoping for feasibility study/FID in the second half of this year. Don't think the market is gonna like that statement.
But that matches my guess with 1H 2023 for construction and 1H 2024 for commercial production.

Definitely seems like more of a turtle than a hare at this point.
Posted on 1/10/22 at 1:05 pm to igoringa
Now, i mean, it's possible that Lanxess "enters the JV" before FID, maybe even this quarter. But I think some of our hopes for Koch really fast tracking this might be for naught.
Posted on 1/10/22 at 1:06 pm to GeneralLee
RM says that they have ~30 full time employees at the plant now running things 24/7.
Posted on 1/10/22 at 1:07 pm to GeneralLee
I submitted a question asking if he could expound on what areas of the Lanx project could benefit from and be 'rapidly progressed' by the Koch investment.
Posted on 1/10/22 at 1:08 pm to Fe_Mike
Really worried they are gonna piss around too long and LAC/CYDVF/others are gonna be eating their lunch on the race to domestic production.
RM said they hope to be in commercial production for Phase 2 (i.e. 2nd Lanxess plant) by 2025. Which probably matches my timeline of 1st commercial plant production in 2024.

1. Optimist in me says that any JVs will need to ironed out months to a year in advance of actual production.
2. The announcement of a Joint venture will cause institutional money to pour in.
3. ???
4. Profit

I really wish the demo plant was producing finished product.
I also wish they wouldn't get distracted by "carbon capture" or any academic fiddling around.

Eh, with their infrastructure, it's a no-brainer. They probably already inject carbon dioxide back into the formation to keep the brine wells charged. Slap a sticker on it and now you're appealing to the "greenies" (aka potential protestors). This is a PR move and isn't taking any significant time away from the money making discussions.
