I am 6 minutes in on the podcast. Nothing earth shattering yet. It's about to get to the meat now.

It’s nothing. I just speed listened to it. They just talk about how good it is to be in London and traveling. They do say they will have reasons to come back and that meeting face to face for first time in 19 months got a lot more done than Zoom.

Episode 118 "Live from London"
The live portion of this 20 minute episode was recorded in the iconic London pub "The Dove" with Benchmark's Simon Moores, his buddy Shay, Standard Lithium CEO Robert Mintak and Standard's Chairman Robert Cross. Initially the meeting was just supposed to be lunch with Simon. When the party grew to five, it seemed like a great opportunity to pull out my IPhone and record an impromptu podcast. The "live" portion is more about people coming out of lockdown and returning to international travel than lithium. I also talk about others I met on my first international trip since March 2020. I was also fortunate to catch up with the management of Livista Energy and the CEO of Fastmarkets and some other companies I am not a liberty to discuss - yet. Shout-outs to Panorama Minero who host a favorite event of mine in Argentina, the good citizens of El Dorado, Arkansas and two locals specifically - you have to listen to find out the reason. Finally, you will hear about plans to get Simon a bit of "southern cultural training" when he travels to Arkansas.

That was a waste of time LOL
If anything to speculate is Bob Cross' comment on reasons to come back a lot more to London and the interesting groups Mintak says they met with during the trip

Never thought of the Canadians as a particularly militant bunch.

Mintak said they were in Europe trying turn the corner and his number two said they were looking for investors in London.
Hmmmm

Notes -
Moores: Says Robert (Bob) Cross is very influential and a huge asset to Standard and the lithium industry, and the commodity sector as a whole
Mintak: Much easier to get things done in person; meeting with several (pauses) groups while there. Clearly wanted to say who he was meeting with but then second guessed. Clarified that anything he said is a forward looking statement
Cross: Going to have reasons to come back for sure
Shay Dave: Sitting in front of 'Lithium Royalty'
Lowry: Arkansas residents need to introduce Bob to guns
As mentioned, not much interesting from this. They mentioned investors several times, I'm thinking this was a large IR trip (not Lanxess related) and may even have been part of locking down the rumored offering.
Mintak definitely seemed like he'd enjoyed some wine. In the video clip, Shay is talking and Mintak is staring right past him, looking into the Thames and kind of mumbling to himself. Probably trying to work out what his net worth is gonna be after the next round of PRs. That's what I do after I get into a bottle of wine.

Yeah mostly a wasted podcast but it seemed to confirm they met face to face with Lanxess in Germany and made lots of progress there and were having lots of talks with investors in London. I hope the shelf offering is drawn on in private deals, not on the open market as the stock support isn’t deep enough on any day to handle tens or hundreds of millions of dollars of shares being sold.

My guess is they are trying get the 60/40 deal with Lanxess instead of the 70/30 which is good.
This would explain the JV being delayed and it would also mean that Mintak is very confident in a strong future for his DLE process.
The drawback is we will have to wait a while longer for the good news but when it comes the price will explode.
They are looking for investors to finance the 60/40

Mostly agree - but I still believe the JV isn't delayed because of negotiations. I'd say that the negs are ongoing, but the hold up is/was the completion of the hydraulic (and overall mass and energy) balance.
Now that both units are hooked up and running, they may have that information in hand. Once that box is checked, JV is imminent IMO. Final numbers are just a formality based on what kind of cash SLI is willing to put up.

Agree. That is why Mintak is looking for investors in London. So he can finance the 60/40. The twist for me is that it is Mintak who is delaying the JV, not Lanxess. This would be good news if true.

Reasonable interpretation although we know definitively that they went to Cologne. Can't see them not going there and not getting work done with Lanxess
