Some cards waive the fee for the first year and in these cases, you can get the signup bonus and cancel the card before the year runs up and you have to pay the fee
Thanks - I've seen a lot of offers like this where the first fee is waived. Just wondering if I cancel the card before that first no-fee year is complete, if they would try to charge for that next year since I would have gotten the signup bonus.

Nope

Yes.
Then between the lounge access and the $200 airline credit I think that fee starts to look a lot more reasonable for someone that travels. I'm getting Global Access and getting the $100 credit back for that as well.

My Admirals Club membership will be ending in March and I've really enjoyed having that since it offers free admission for you and 2 friends or 3 family members. I'm going to start trying out my United Club free day passes. My wife and I have 8 I believe, but I have found that you can get them real cheap on Ebay. ~$10.

Doesn't have to be Centurian Lounges for Platinum Business.
Access to over 600 lounges and it includes AA, US Airways and Delta Lounges.

Paying cash for a round trip to New Zealand. Looks like the major airlines servicing that route are United, American, and Air New Zealand. My current plan is to apply for the Arrival+ and use the purchase to almost make the bonus award in one fell swoop as I can't find a decent branded card for any of those airlines. Am I missing any worthwhile cards?

That's the one thing I wish my reserve card had... Global Entry

Marriott points have been devalued unfortunately. I have the chase marriott card but I don't use it anymore.
Once I use these points, I'll keep the card but I am going to switch hotel allegiance.

Global entry is done and company would pay for it anyways. Usually fly qatar airways or emirates and always business or first class so lounges are covered when on business. Centurion lounges would only benefit on personal vacations.

Then I have nothing else.

Concierge has been my biggest benefit over the last year. Guess it's just something I have to ponder the value of and if to continue. Some new perks sure would make this easier. Anything coming that anyone knows about?

Economy Plus makes a difference if you're ever in that position on an international leg.
Btw United was fantastic today in the customer service department (meals need work). My Saturday Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt was delayed to Sunday (was notified about 5 hours before flight) but United had an earlier flight going there. Got bumped up to Plus so we didn't suffer.
Never even got past Lufthansa on hold.
The Equalizer was pretty brutal movie at times
PS apologize for over use of parentheses

Best bang for your buck with 100k AMEX points? I don't really use my AMEX anymore (everything except gas/groceries goes on the CSP)
I am thinking about using the 40% transfer bonus to Avios and just moving them all over there.

That's what I just did. That's a bunch of domestic flights on AA.

Something to keep an eye out for. Got back home last night and had a US Airways mailer offering an additional 15,000 points for spending $750 a month for January, February, and March.
So $2250 for 15,000 doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. This is on top of the 50,000 after $89 and one purchase ($10 for me). So all in all $2349 spend for 65000 points.

Not sure who to ask but I just got chase sapphire preferred. How do you all like this card? Is it worth $95 annual fee? Is it better than most Cards? What cards do you think is better?

Any advice on how to book a trip to Auckland from MSY or IAH using Chase UR or Amex MR?
I am struggling to find flight availability at a decent transfer partner.

Just got my card and made my first purchase. Paid off the balance already.
Do I need to register for this new offer you got in the mail or do I just need to spend the $750/month for the next 3 months?
TIA
