I’ve never thought of transferring SW points to Chase
You can't transfer from SW to Chase. Only Chase to SW, but I advise against it for the reason cited.

How do you book your companion if you have a companion pass?
You book the ticket with dollars or points with the account that has CP. After you are done booking the ticket you go back to that account and go to your reservations. There will be a button that says "Add Companion".

I currently have the CSR but I am looking at something specifically for gas & groceries (we spend $1,000+ monthly).
Chase Freedom for rotating categories, or Chase Freedome Unlimited for 1.5 on everything. I have the Freedom Unlimited and it's working well.

Not sure if you can tell me and I can't find the answer. How do you sign up for a SW business card if you don't have a business? See people referring to the companion hack but not sure how that works.
Any help is appreciated.

1)Lying
2) Attributing something like selling a few things on eBay as a "business"

3. Use your SSN as the business EIN
4. List your first and last name as the business name with no variation
I got the Citi AA business card by putting down selling stuff online and put $0 for revenue
Chase is a bit more strict but people have had success by putting like $2,000 in revenue and 2 years in business. I'll be trying to get one of those next.

I got Ink preferred with zero problems

What did you put for income and years in business? Some people on r/churning report that Chase would want them to supply more info

I have two Chase business cards from before they started clamping down.
You will only get one card max without a legit business from what I read these days.

As others have said, Chase freedom frequently has rotating 5% gas stations and grocery. IMO if you have the CSR, having the Freedom is a must because you can combine points. I rack up with those 5% categories then move to my CSR account to get the better value.
Also the Amex gold has 4x's at supermarkets (and dining).

Speaking of using points... Whats the best thing to do with American Express points?
I usually transfer them to British Airways Avios when there's a bonus (gets you to 1.4:1) and then use the Avios on partner airlines.

Anybody have any strong opinions on the SW deal they are running now for 30k points and a companion pass through 12/31? Have a flight from Birmingham to San Fran with the wife in may that it might make it worth it but I'm not sure

If you have a SW-friendly airport the Companion Pass is the best deal in travel. The only question is if you want to do the deal above for 30K and CP through 2019, or do the business+personal for 110K and get it through 2020. If you're doing it for one specific trip but don't plan to travel much else or are scared of 2 credit cards or getting a business card, just do the first one. You could always get the business card later in the year and extend the CP through 2020.

Makes sense, thanks for the input. We already have The CSP but are saving those point for flights to Greece Summer 2020. I read the comments on the previous page about how to get a business card without actually owning a business but have rental property so I guess I could count that as a business without SW checking into it too hard correct?

Points gurus, I am in the process of planning my honeymoon in January 2020. We are looking at doing an all-inclusive in the Caribbean. I know that's a contentious subject itself, but we've never done it and that is what we have decided on for the honeymoon. I have looked at several islands, but leaning toward St. Lucia currently.
I would like to utilize points as best as possible. Currently I'm sitting on about 80k UR points and 80k United Miles. The United Miles seem pretty worthless for Caribbean award travel from the searches I've done.
My plan right now is to rack up as many UR points as possible and book an all-inclusive through the Chase portal. I've got a CSR, Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and Ink Cash. I've done some manufactured spending before and plan to start up again. I figured I would do this for a few months and then book around mid-June, 7 months in advance of our trip.
I guess I have two questions:
1) Is mid-June a good time to book a mid-January 7 night stay at an all-inclusive? Too late? Or can I wait later?
2) Is there any other strategies you would use to build up points or use the points more efficiently? I am over 5/24 until March 10... so I was trying to hold out until then before doing any more credit card churning.

I went to sandals grande st Lucian for my honeymoon and loved it. Been to many all inclusive since and st Lucia is still one of our favorites. Are you flying out of New Orleans? Because I’ve been able to use United miles a good bit out of New Orleans. What I would do is search all three major airlines and decide which would be the least amount of miles on your dates and then get the airline credit card for you and your wife so you can each use the sign up bonus for the flights. You can get the AA card being over 5-/24 and the delta card as well. You could always tell your fiancé to apply for a card you want assuming she isn’t over 5/24

The Sandals Grand St. Lucian is what I was actually leaning towards.. also checking out the Anse Chastanet but that's likely going to be out of our price range.
Yes, we will very likely fly out of Nola unless somehow BTR has a better option. I'm holding off until March 10 to get under 5/24 and get a couple more Chase cards, but I could grab an AA or Delta at that point as well. I've also never dabbled with Amex MR, I keep waiting to see that Platinum 100k offer..
Fiancé is 2/24, so she could churn some UR earning cards, but I am wary of combining our points until we are under the same "household." I wonder if I could call the CSR instead of booking through the portal, and see if they could combine our points and book our stay over the phone.

You could do Hawaii with some light MS and pay for your stay, a Mexico AI easily with what you have or totally free with a little more MS. Not sure about Caribbean but interested to see what the thread gurus advise.
