He wouldn't be able to get the CSR bonus if he got the CSP bonus less than 2 years ago, right? I will be at 2 years with CSP this fall and was waiting until then for the CSR, assuming that I read it correctly.

Ya, sorry if I caused any confusion but that is true. He'd have to wait the two years. I thought he implied that much time had passed.

ETA: sounds like he got the bonus in October 2017 so he'd have to wait until that date in October 2019.

Ended up going with Sapphire Reserve. Once I get the card in, I'm going to transfer my current Freedom point balance to the CSR card and redeem them for 1.5 travel points for our trip to Disney this fall.

Now, I just need to figure out if I'm better off keeping the Freedom card or changing it over to the Freedom Unlimited.

I have all 3 which is really the best mix, if you’re willing to manage that many cards.

Applying for 2 cards in one day would have been ideal had you wanted to have all 3 though.

There's no reason to not keep (or get) both.

Yes that's when I got the bonus.

So should I ditch upgrading to the reserve? And wait the two years to upgrade to get the bonus?

Or Lets say I upgrade before the two years, will I be eligible for the bonus when that two year mark hits?

No "upgrades" of any kind are eligible for bonuses. That's pretty universal with every issuer.

What you can do is after October 2019, you will be eligible for the Reserve bonus. You can do all the things I stated at that time.

Remember, upgrading Preferred is not what you're doing. You will either cancel it or downgrade it to one of the Freedoms. You will then start a new Reserve application.

It's up to you if you want to wait that long and how that fits in with your overall strategy, considering 5/24 rule and all that.

Anybody taking advantage of this Iberia Avios promotion?

My 90,000 miles posted today. Was curious if that $250 went to waste but happy to see them honor the promotion.

I booked a MAD-JFK return on their new a350 in biz to get home from a previously booked trip. Will probably use the rest on a couple long weekend Caribbean RTs.

I think I can squeeze in 3 more, but may have to top off with some other points. Will only be in economy but the flights are short enough (and cheap enough) that I don't care.

Finally figured out what was going on with my rewards portal.

Got issued a replacement Chase card, the system failed to remove my old account # (both showed up on dashboard) which caused the UR portal to fail to accept transfers. Finally figured it out and all good

Those of you with AA mailer experience, please make sure I have my options correct. My wife has received two AA Gold mailers in her name expiring 8/15 and 9/15. No 24 month language but existing account language exists.

The way I read this, I can use one for myself and one for her, but I can't use both for each of us because of the existing account rule, since the first approved account would preclude the second account.

Now, I believe the mailers folks are churning don't include the existing account caveat, is that correct? Just confirming everything because another 110,000 miles between my wife and myself is always nice.

Wife is way under 5/24 and looking to get her a new card today. She has CSR and CIP currently. Are there any great offers right now or should I just get something like the chase ink cash for a quick 50k or the united mileage explorer for 40K+$100?

United puts out way higher offers (60k to 70k). If you don't have a frequent flyer account I suggest you get one with them and log into the site. The offers will show up like an ad.

You may always try card match and see what it throws at you. That's how you get Amex Plat's 100k offer. My wife and I have not had luck but a friend of mine got it to come up.

And no one gonna throw Ole Rux a bone here on the AA mailers?

Alrighty...I've been lurking in this thread for years, but need some advice. We're finishing up a home renovation and close on the refi at the end of the month.

By that point, we will have hit the maximum benefit threshold on our existing DL Plat Amex, and have already churned through the SW RR cards to get me companion pass.

What's available for us? I wish the Marriott 100k bonus was another month longer, but I need to wait until the house closes to open up anymore lines.

Learned yesterday you can actually get two CIP by applying the first time with your SSN and the second time by getting an EIN from the IRS and applying with that so that is what I ended up doing.

Chase is obviously the easiest program to work with but they are getting tougher on applications.

I'd probably see what program works with Delta's Skyteam alliance partners the best to further leverage your earnings with them for premium international cabins. Delta's program is a bear but it's partners have some great values.

One example that isn't international of course is using Korean Air to fly Delta to Hawaii. I'd imagine you could potentially leverage your status on Delta to get even more value from that.

Yeah, I did two SW RR cards with them...I think I sent them more information than I did to the mortgage company.

So you're suggesting looking at a Korean Air rewards card, for instance?
