Ya that whole thing is kinda shitty. I feel bad for folks who applied in the last 11 months who wasted their time.

Good timing!

This was the most blogged about deal for card benefits. It just seemed like it was too easy. The next step will be more detailed blogs about starting "businesses"

What to do to best use Amex points? I’m cranking out a lot of them every month now. I can convert to Avios when the bonuses are active but wondering what are the other good options.

I just cashed in a chunk on flying blue for some flights to Europe. Seemed like a good value spend for me.

There should be more than a few blog posts that come up if you search beat uses for MR. See if any match up with something you're trying to do.

But be careful exploring unfamiliar programs as your experience may not quite match up with how these bloggers make it sound so easy.

Now chase is nuking all of their price and return protections. Probably not a reason people signed up for their cards, but they continue chopping away at the benefits of being a chase cardholder.

That's disappointing. I've picked up a few hundred dollars over the years on price drops on big purchases (laptop, washer and dryer, etc).

It was a good benefit. I used it twice on big purchases. Really hate to see it go but apparently it was abused. Removing the benefit from the CSR sucks considering the annual fee!

How was it being abused?

What's everybody using for gas rewards? Currently, I have the CSP, Freedom Unlimited, and Freedom card. I know the freedom just rolled out of the gas rewards for Jan-Mar and I used it heavily. Looking for something to use the other 9 months of the year.

I generally use my Ink Cash for gas purchases at 2x.

There are apps that track purchases and find lower prices. The app would then file price protection claims with little involvement of the card holder. That's why Chase added the "wet signature" requirement. The slick deals people would also link to bait and switch website ads to get the lower price. I only used it a couple times but it sure affected which card I used for several big purchases.

Ink Cash

Does that get 5x at office supply stores? OD is running another card sale. I'm burning my Ink+ up again this week.

Ya Ink Cash was just like Ink Bold etc just that the 5x was limited to $20,000 a year and not $50,000. And was no fee.

Another thing to do in the future is to buy gas station (or other merchant) gift cards from the gas station before the quarter ends or other merchant.

For instance, I bought a few hundred dollars in Shell GCs from Best Buy (5x mobile wallet) to continue 5x gas.

I also like J-dog use my biz card for 2x gas.

Yup yup. And when I was less busy, I bought shell gift cards from Office Depot. Now I just take my 2x points and call it a day

That sucks. Like I said, it wasn’t something I used often, but it got me to pull the trigger on some big purchases knowing that waiting for a sale wasn’t as important.

I need a new cc for business expenses reimbursed with this new job I've taken.

Last couple I've taken there has been a company issued AX.

What is this CSR I keep reading about? What's it's stand for?
