Just upgraded from the Amex gold to platinum with to 60k points for 5k spent in the first 3 months offer...
Waiting for them to run 100k again... churned and burned it then went to reserve... now burned the reserve, so need another big one.

I think the 100k is only for New card applications. This was just an upgrade.

You should be eligible if you haven’t gotten it in 2yrs... not sure though.
But I haven’t seen the 100k in a while

Only had the gold for a little over a year or so.

The chase ink card will probably be my third card just for the office supply/gas points scheme.
VGC deal going on now at OD. Time to replenish. I hut one store in BR today and at least 8-10 had the back of the card tampered with.

Where are you parking all of your MR points? Or do you just find a way to use them?
I've held off on picking up any Amex cards because I just don't know when or how I would use the points. I've got CSR and Citi Prestige. I have a ton of UR points and the CSR is a keeper card for me.. but I'm at the point where I'm just planning to redeem my thank you points for cash rather than hold through another annual fee waiting for the best redemption option to pop up...

I use my AmEx points for flights for big trips we take.

Anyone sign up for 100k rewards points for CSR then cancel before the second $450 annual fee? If so, why?
I know it comes with the $300 travel credit, TSA pre-check, and airport lounges, but I never used the lounge so I don't want to factor that into my decision.
ETA: If one uses the entire $300 in travel credit and also earns more than $150 in rewards points it should be a no brainer to keep the card correct?

Basically, Unless you feel like you could earn more than $150 using a different card.

AmEx is one of the best currencies out there being the only ANA and Aeroplan partner. Virgin Atlantic becomes a great deal too when they run promos like the recent 30% bonus making an RT to Japan on ANA F 93K MR. Just earn what you can and when you know your vacation dates and have an idea of where you wanna go just ask here and you will get the assistance you need.

Any tips on finding award availability for Korean Air? Chasing that elusive 45k First Class flight to Hawaii but can't find anything even 10 months out. Been using the Air France website but finding econ is hard enough, there has to be a better way or some trick I'm missing. Open to suggestions, out of Baton Rouge but wouldn't mind taking a positioning flight if necessary.

Yeah, you are looking for Delta Biz award availability which is non-existent
I'd go with Econ if you ever find it. Look out of ATL/DTW/LAX and connect out of there if you can't find anything out of BR.
Other good options are Singapore for 35K RT in Econ. Availability is PLENTY on UA flights. Search on united.com. This is the award I like best for Hawaii flights due to the availability and price point.

Thanks. Just another question or two if you don't mind. If I booked through Singapore I'd pay bag fees right? Any way to avoid these, I don't have status with any airlines. Was planning on paying the fees with my CSR to give me the trip protection. Unless the United card has decent protection as well? Still new to booking flights, previously redeemed on hotels and southwest.

I did... going to apply what it would have cost me to get that $150 spending wise towards the minimum on a card with a sign up bonus.
Would love for Amex to run the 100K right now.

Shouldn't have to pay bag fees, unless I am mistaken.
If you do, only way to avoid this without having status is to have the UA CC. I know for a fact carry-ons are free though.

That would be nice.
Does the $300 travel credit start in january or does it start on your anniversary date? I thought I remember someone saying they were able to get two $300 travel credit before they paid their second annual fee.

Restarts after your Dec statement...
It’s great the first year you get one of the cards because you get the credit for that current calendar year and then com January get it again before paying the second annual fee.
So with Reserve, I got $600 travel credit, Global Entry, and 100k pts for $450.

I got the card in March of this year. Got the $300 travel credit. So I will get another $300 in January?
If so I may just use that in January and February then cancel or downgrade before March to avoid the $450.
