My plan is to form an LLC this year to place some investments with that will count towards "revenue." That way I won't feel guilty and to open up all issuers. I don't think Chase is giving us any more biz cards at $0 revenue .
The LLC(s) will hopefully be used for other things as well as I move forward, so I'm not doing it just for credit cards.

It's my first business CC. Been needing one actually, but couldn't have come at a better time. Gonna use that 80k for my trip to Vietnam in Feb.
It took a little extra effort though, I had to call and see what the hold up was then they finally approved it over the phone.

It used to be good to call then it became very bad unless it was your last option.

Yeah I called.
I just wasn't approved immediately and I didn't feel like waiting for them to send me a letter and whatnot.
Just asked about my application status and they said they needed some more verification (which I knew was going to be the case, but again didn't want to wait to hear it via mail).
I gave them the info and he said you're approved and you'll receive your card in 1-2 weeks.
Eta: why is it bad to call??

Nice. Ya that's what I did for my two business cards but it's supposedly not the way to go about it these days.
Glad it worked out.
Vietnam is going to be awesome. Try to do business class on the way there if you can manage it. Got to experience that once in your life.

Expound?
I haven't applied for a business card recently, but if I had and hadn't been instantly approved, I would have called about 24 hours later, just like I did for every other business card.
What's changed?

That's correct. Stuck with chase, but have gotten all the good cards and am 5/24'd for both the wife and I.
100k from CSR x2
80k from ink preferred x2
2 free nights Hyatt x 2 (I see this is no longer available)
United 50k x 2 (missed out on the 70k
) And then one 60k Saphhire preferred and one ihg 70k.

That the reps look into "how can we deny this" instead of how to approve and grill the shite out of you, and therefore it may be better to just wait out the decision process before calling as you may turn an approval into a denial by calling.
And no shite, people have actually made chart trees showing you what odds are of approval/denial are based on what the message you receive on the initial response it. It's all worked out.
This is a departure from when calling in quickly was the thing to do. Of course you may end up OK, but it's now better to have less eyes on you.
Of course if the follow up letter denies then you call in.

Yessir, that was the plan. Although I'm gonna have to do some convincing with the little lady I'm going with that I'll be sitting in business class away from her

Hilton is basically across the street. I prefer the Hyatt Regency over the Hilton, considering how absurdly cheap on points the Hyatt is. Both are good hotels and some of my colleagues prefer Hilton

There are a ton of options but I use this company every time. LINK Trust me, it is about $7-10/ day and worth every cent.
I don't really have a ton of personal time when I make the trip so I'm not the one to ask. The one thing I'd do for sure is climb Mt. Fuji
If you go climb Fuji-san, I'd highly recommend going with a guided tour. Cost about $200, but they give you lodging on mtn, food and transportation that otherwise costs ~$125. Well worth the $75 to have a guided tour
You also can save yourself a hotel night expense by doing the tour. All hotels in Tokyo should hold your bags if you check out for just one day

I have not but my readings on the subject seem to state it is a PITA, at least if you're heading there directly from the US. You may have more luck connecting in Tokyo, Bangkok, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc.
I'm sure you'll be fine on the Park Hyatt since all the needs to be available is a standard room for you to book.
