Just started getting into this late last year. Wife just got approved for SW business card, already has personal SW card, so after min spend we will have companion pass.
So, now wife has CSR, SW personal and SW Business. Does this put her at 3/24 ? Didnt know if business card counted into this. Gonna go for the B of A Alaska card next couple of weeks for her then Hyatt card after summer (want the two free nights for summer 2018 Hawaii trip). Does the Hyatt card count into 5/24? Seems like I have read it both ways on internet.
Thanks

Business cards do not count toward 5/24.. so she is at 2/24. Chase Hyatt is not affected by 5/24 but it does count toward 5/24, as does the BoA card and all other non-business cards.

I am not an expert but I think that business cards through Chase do count toward 5/24 which puts you at 3/24. I would look at the Chase cards with best sign up bonuses next such as one of the INK cards and then any other Chase cards you may be interested in before doing the Hyatt and IHG cards since 5/24 does not matter when getting these cards. It does count toward 5/24 for any other cards that have restrictions. Then get other companies cards you are interested in.

I was on the phone with Chase the other day cancelling my CSP, and when I asked what my downgrade options were was informed that I could downgrade to a no fee Sapphire. When I replied that I thought they discontinued that card entirely, he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. I already have a no fee Sapphire aonit didn't matter to me, but still.
So, PSA, the no fee Sapphire is a great card to downgrade to of you don't already have one.

I'm happy to have my wife be on the slower end of card apps. My 2nd United card (not second fee, second time I've had card) fee just hit and with 5/24 it's going to be hard to ever get back in on it. The availability of awards holding the card is just light years better. I figure maybe I might hold it so my wife can slowly churn them...
What's everyone's travel arrangements these days? I still have Peru coming up over July 4th and just booked a week in South Africa on Ethiopian for next March. Biz one way and Econ back because my wife couldn't spare one more day for biz return. Should be "fun"

After getting the CSR I downgraded my CSP to the Freedom Unlimited and my INK Business to the no fee INK cash card.

Any good 0% APR on balance transfers/purchases for 12 months travel-oriented cards out there?

I'll be downgrading my Ink Plus to the no fee Ink Cash in a couple of months. I decided to cancel the CSP because I already have a no fee Sapphire and I'll probably just apply for the Freedom Unlimited here soon to get the sign up bonus.
The no fee Sapphire has become less important to me now that I'm switching from the Ink Plus to the CSR as my forever card, but it's still a handy card, especially for a SO to carry if you can't justify two CSR annual fees.

Currently doing a few days in Austin (Hyatt awards), probably doing Chicago in August and hopefully Japan in November, but those are still in the works.
Oh, and the SO informed me the other day that she'd like a long weekend in NYC for her birthday in June, so maybe that as well

Good transfer cards and good travel cards really don't overlap much. If it were me, I would get a Chase Slate for the balance transfer, then apply for a CSP/CSR and transfer whatever points I accrued on the Slate to the new card.

Just the Ole $1,000 birthday trip huh? It is funny how that happens.

When we have 400k UR between us, it's hard to argue too much. Plus, she's turning 30, and NYC is always fun, so why not

I was going to guess 30. My wife did the same thing earlier this year.
She usually just says "Do your magic" like I can just figure something out all the time.

In fairness, we practically always can/do, so we've kind of set ourselves up for those kind of expectations

Going to NYC this coming week. First time for me and taking my grandson to see Yankees and wife to see Lion King on Broadway. Also planning a road trip Sept/Oct to see the East coast. Most of it on points so enjoying the benefits.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Lion King, both on Broadway and the traveling performance. Enjoy

21 flights in the next 30 days (close to 40k miles flown). I'm proud of myself because I've spent close to half a million UR this year and it's not even June
