I would have wondered if there would be some type of devaluation but don't see why they'd devalue partner transfer

My Amazon GC purchases alone justify the INK
You mean buying Amazon GC from a office supply? I did that recently for $1000 at Amazon. I also bought $1000 in gas cards so yeah those are reasons I would likely keep Ink no matter what. Plus the phone/cable/utilities which is another $350/month x 5.
Hopefully the Reserve has some good multipliers other than the 3x for gas and dining. I'm pretty sure I'm screwed on the 5/24 though

So you can buy the Safeway GC's on Staples through UR portal and get 5x? That's good to know. We go every couple weeks and drop $200 each time.

Can you use Safeway cards at Albertsons yet?

I don't see that being a good deal. I think I must be in rewards hell. Amazon has slightly higher prices on things like groceries and related things that only benefit me if I don't drive to the store. that includes tax. I got much better deals going to walmarks with a cardcash card at 5x Ink.

I don't use Amazon for groceries, but it's 5x on those and gas GC from a office supply. Also, if the other guy was saying you can buy Safeway in the portal from Staples and get 5x as well on your Ink.

You're really upset about this. Why don't you just shop at target? Buy GCs from Staples.

So what's the strategy for this new chase sapphire... I have 3 chase cards with about 55k credit card limit total. I'm under 5/24.
Have freedom and CSP. I want to cancel CSP and get the reserve... Would I lose my UR points if I cancel CSP prior to applying the new one or can I transfer them to the freedom temporarily? Worried about overextending my credit if I apply for reserve then cancel CSP afterwards

Nearest one is 20 minutes away
Gonna have to rethink the purchases and start bringing a cooler in the car
Walmarks was so much easier letting someone else do the shopping! And only 5 mins away

I have the option of booking a $600 suite for 13k points or staying for free with my inlaws after our friends' wedding

You must not know how/what to buy from Amazon. Everything I order is significantly cheaper than the grocery store.

Ya... don't buy that stuff. That's stupid

SPG and AA are doing the promotion where you get 30,000 miles for 20,000 SPG points again until 9/14.

Is this even that good of a deal? SPG points are pretty valuable from what I undersatnd

Well SPG points are so valuable becuase you can transfer to airlines at 1.25 per point. AA has no other transfer partners except SPG. So getting 1.5 AA points per SPG is a great deal. If you have use for AA points and don't already have a ton.

The Visa Infinite aspect of the Reserve seems interesting. There is a $200k household income requirement for the only current US card. There is also a $100 credit when you book 2 airline tickets.
There may be a Ritz Reserve card that will be rolled out at the same time which isn't subject to 5/24.

I did the Southwest Cards this year for the companion pass. I am wondering if there is a business card to replace with the Southwest Premier Business that does not have an annual fee? I do not want to cancel the SPB card and have my credit limit lowered. I would just like to roll to a new business card with no AF and hopefully get some UR points out of it, if possible.
Any suggestions?

I would highly recommend the Chase Ink. It comes with a 70K point bonus after match and 5X on Office Supply stores, and 3X at gas stations. That is well worth the $95 fee for year 1. If you can buy merchant GCs at Staples/Office Depot for the 5X points for your regular spend, then you will likely come ahead each year. If you spend at office supply stores at all, then this card is a must anyway.
Plus if you don't have a CSP this is good to have to give access to travel partners. If you really don't want to keep it after year 1, you can product change to Ink Cash which has the same 5X categories with no annual fee. However, you lose access to travel partners unless you have the CSP.

Thanks! I do not have the CSP currently. I have the freedom with the 5x categories each quarter. I was about to get the CSP, but then I heard of the Reserve that is about to be released and plan on applying for that right away.

Depending on how you are doing with 5/24, there is no reason why you shouldn't get both (Ink and CSR). Thats a cool 170K easy UR.

I am good on the 5/24. I have 3 new cards in the last 24 months. So should I call chase and ask them to roll my SPB into the Chase Ink and give me the bonus points for the 5k spend? I haven't done this before. I know with the SW Premier personal I can just ask them to add that credit limit to my freedom, but this would be a little different.
