Booked Cancun. I was thinking about calling and seeing about reservations at Chefs plate or whatever the nice restaurant is
I didn't know if anything had to be booked advance. Any suggested activities both paid/in general
Marie Marie. You want to call in way in advance and make reservations there for sure. Chef's plate is for small groups. 6-10 IIRC

Dumb question, how do I make a reservation? Do I have to call the hotel?

No, call 911
Didn't know if I could do it online which is preferable. Searching so far hasn't been too fruitful
Reservation is in the Wife's name as she is the Platinum member. Unfortunately, she would be less help than calling 911
eTA When you are this helpful Amerikop, it is too easy to just ask you instead of doing in depth research

I just got delta card and it says I get a $100 statement credit with in flight purchase but I have no travel plans. Is there a way to buy some thing on their website or make a purchase that will get me this statement credit?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I know points + cash is usually not a good value, but I'm thinking of using 7500 points + $100 to stay a weekend night at Hyatt French Quarter. The rate is $400+ a night. Seems like a good value to me

That hotel I thought was typically more in the $215-$250 range.

Idk who said p+c isn't good value. A lot of times, like the one you just mentioned, they prove to be very good value. The way I look at p+c redemptions is whether I would pay the cash component to "buy " the points I'm saving. If the answer is greater than the value per point, I go p+c way

Gotcha. I was looking at prices for Thanksgiving weekend on Priceline for the same one.

how are you guys doing the MS to meet the minimal?

I don't MS at all. I'll start buying GCs for things I already use like Amazon/HomeDepot/Chipotle though
Most MS people buy Reloadable GCs, buy money orders then put them on a Walmart debit card type thing. They then use Walmart bill pay to pay it off

Card cash 5x deal on Ink is dead. Just learned of it in May.

Card cash? What did I miss?
Posted on 7/18/16 at 7:34 am to Joshjrn
Discounted gift cards showed up as utilities purchase on Ink card. 5x UR points that now only get 1x points
Posted on 7/18/16 at 10:29 am to fatboydave
What about regular price gift cards?
Posted on 7/18/16 at 11:51 am to metallica81788
All gift cards are now 1x. sorry, could have been a little clearer.

He just meant that a website used to code as utilities which gave the Chase Ink 5x bonus. So you could reap a 5% bonus on top of a discounted GC to begin with

5x not 5% (equal to about 10%)

Lets all remember to post those little tidbits on here
By the way...I've been doing referrals on plastiq to pay bills free and noticed the citi att card gives me 3% on mortgage. (Codes as online purchases)
