I thought so. I have AMEX Surpass and the AMEX everyday. If they wouldn't have emailed me the 50k bonus for the AMEX Platinum I wouldn't have done any research.
Once I saw the 100k out there in the past, I went looking for it and got it.

Do charge cards count towards the 2 per month or 1 per day limit? I think I'm going to do 2 charge cards and no credit cards for now. Thanks!

The best use of Hyatt nights is at one of their All inclusive properties. Nights are $500 compared to $800 at Maldives etc, but everything's included. And the food is great unlike other all inclusives. Check out the Zilara in Cancun. All suite, all ocean facing, all with a Jacuzzi in the room. Possibility of getting upgrades to pool villa.
I was reading Devil's Advocate on Travel Codex about this. Not a bad deal at all.

All this. Forgot about top tier status at enterprise and a few other rental car places.
I got the card last year with the 100k. The power of the amex points is in the partner transfers. If those work for you, do it. With the 100k points especially, if you are going to get one of their higher end cards, the platinum is a no brainer. It pays for itself if you can use the benefits.
The centurion lounge for me will be great as I will use LGA as home base.

Damn, not sure why I've never checked out the Zilara in Cancun.
I have 50,000 Hyatt points coming my way thanks to a room block I have setup in my name at a local Hyatt, and this sounds like a great way to put those to work. With HOU - CUN at 15K SW points round trip and companion pass to cover the wife, I could knock out her baby moon with almost no work and minimal point usage.

How do the credit card free night certs work at Ziva Cancun if you have more than 2 people?

I've done the Hyatt Ziva in Cabo.
The drinks were cold and they had decent quality liquors especially for Diamond members. I'd go back in a heart beat, but probably won't plan it. All inclusives are not my favorite type of vacation, but it was nice to relax and booze it up for free by the pool and not worry about anything for a few days.
The breakfast buffets were great, the pool side food was good, but most of the dinners were average mass serving types of food.
It's definitely a good deal all things considered, but it is still an all inclusive, and I found about 75% of the food served to be of average quality.
I believe under 3 is free and additional guests are 10k more per if paying with points. Not sure about cash.

I wonder if Citi will up their Prestige card points offer soon? Citi is a better option for me and would love to eek out a little more than 50k signup points.

Is applying for the SW personal and SW business card simultaneously for a 100,000 and thus a companion pass still allowable?

Called Amex about the blue cash preferred card. They offered 50k points for $1k in 3 months for the premier gold rewards instead. I'm hoping to rock the two $100 yearly airline credits and not get a hard pull on my score since I already have the blue cash card. The platinum was nice, but I couldn't use its benefits to the full
Long term is shoot for citi prestige with its credits and points and go play golf. :)

24 months
Not indefinitely. You can try to stagger it. Get 1 now, 1 in 3 months after meeting the spend on the first one. However, there are no guarantees that the 50K offer will still be around then.
Prepay car insurance, pay home rent/mortgage. Grocery store/wholesale club/amazon gcs. $2K/3 months isn't that hard especially if you can prepay for a few things.

Car insurance and the GC stuff I could do.
You're gonna have to educate me here. I venmo a guy...

If you Venmo a guy rent, you can choose to pay with a CC for a 3% transaction fee. The points are worth ~$1k depending on where you transfer, so it may be worth paying rent on Venmo with the CC for a month or so to put you over the spending requirement.

Easy. Use Plastiq to pay any one that does not accept a credit card (or venmo). Plastiq will send them a check in the mail. Just make sure you do this a couple weeks before your due date because it may take them a while some times. It has a 3% fee. $30 per $1000. $120 for $4000 if you did it all this way. Not too bad.

Thank you for the ideas. Both would likely work. Since I already use venmo, might as well pay the 3% for this.

Wow the 100K Plat offer is already gone. So glad I got in. Who else did?
Posted on 5/10/16 at 10:25 pm to AmeriKop45
I got the 50k for 1k of spending for the gold. I thought that was a heck of a deal.
Posted on 5/10/16 at 11:33 pm to AmeriKop45
I woke up, went for a run... Around noon went to go apply and it was gone :( just procrastinated because last year it was almost 48 hours and figured I had more time

I almost did. Decided to wait until the end of the year and try to go through some of the backdoor offers to get it if not public.
