I signed up before my post on here on at 4:50pm on Monday afternoon.
UPS dropped it off at my door at 10am.

Let see what benefits I can use first.

You guys think grabbing a $0 AF card first for points and history, then calling and seeing about upgrading and grabbing better point offers is a good idea?

I think I have begun to play this game...

Yep. My favorite airline points even with the Emirates deval. I just wish their card offered bonus points for spend categories. No reason to use the card with an AMEX SPG.

Generally(a couple rare exceptions I can think of) when you upgrade a card you'll have to re-apply for the premium card.

Let the games begin. It'll change the way you think about travel.

Yes ofcourse. Got my first two BoFA AS this Jan so have about 55K. Will see if they'll consistently keep giving me 2 every 6-7 months to add to this so I can save my SPG points. If I can get in on at least one more round of 2, I won't mind covering about 50K with SPG.

If JAL allows 1 stopover like on CX, I will be all over this.

Nice. I'm going to cancel my 6(4 mine/2 wife) this year and will try to do it all over again beginning of 2017.

I did a SPG nights n flight deal to help get me to 200k for Emirates first since I didn't get my wife the biz cards.

That would be pretty awesome.

Just booked my Qatar business class seats from BKK-HANoi on their 777 for 9k Avios and $70 per seat. I really just wanted to see the product. Rare you get a jet like that on such a short hop(~2 hour), but it's a cargo route.

Nice. How much spend did you put on each? I sock-drawered mine after meeting the spends.

That is awesome. I'm jealous. I've flown Qatar J before and it is rather nice. Though much better than any US carrier it is bottom of the ME3 imo. But again, make no mistake, #3 ME3 carrier is still far better than 90% of any other airlines
I've been looking and found RT to male next year. One way is Singapore Suites and other way is Etihad Apartments. Trying to justify the obscene costs associated with the Maldives and the 370K point outlay

What's your routing look like on Singapore? Do they fly all the way in to MLE and what's the cost of that?

Etihad Apartments.

I wouldn't blame you for doing it but I understand where you're coming from. It's a go big or go home redemption.

No suites to MLE. LAX-NRT-SIN on Suites then SIN-MLE in J.

With the current 30% bonus to EY, it is only 91K 1 way and bookable online..

Really I would do this in a heartbeat if the occasion was something more special than "never been"

Afro, you did this in one year, every 3 months I take it? I got mine last Nov so I have been slacking but thinking about grabbing more and just want to be sure of the best way to do it. I love that they're now with JAL.

I did 2 in the fall last year and then 2 more 100 days later. I had the points in my account by December.

What's the best sign-up on a hyatt cc these days? just the 2 free nights + 5k for AU or is there still an offer with a statement credit floating around? Time to take the plunge.

I did find one for 2 nights + $50, but it doesn't include the 5k for AU. Requires a dummy booking and a bit of maneuvering to access.

For anyone wondering on the intro free night certs, you can use them at ziva properties for a family of four according to the Hyatt Concierge twitter account. No surcharges for the additional people. Results in an incredible value. Thanks guys for highlighting this redemption op.

I would take the 5K points. Do you value your Hyatt points at less than 1 cpp?

For those who use Hilton (and other chains for that matter), try this…If you Google search for “Hilton Processlanding”, you’ll find targeted offers. Not all companies come up in the search though, so you can try typing some in the URL where the company name is (such as Google) to see if it works.

Also, did anyone take advantage of the Target/Ebay merry-go-round? It looks like it is now dying (Target not giving 5% anymore) but it was the following:

1. You start with a $1000 Target gift card. You can then buy $1000 of Ebay gift cards on Target.com, and if you had a Redcard saved to your profile, you’ll get a 5% discount.
2. Take those $1000 of Ebay GC and buy Target GC from Ebay (and earn some portal points while you’re at it)
3. Rinse and repeat

Agree. I applied under the 5k AU offer.
