NEW YORK (AP) — Chevron will take over Noble Energy for $5 billion in the first big deal announced since the coronavirus pandemic shook the energy sector.
quote:

Based on Chevron’s closing price on Friday, Noble Energy shareholders will receive 0.1191 shares of Chevron for each Noble Energy share. But with the list price comes a lot of debt.

The total enterprise value of the deal is $13 billion, with Chevron assuming Noble's debt.

Hollub contributed 20% of the deal

Just saw that and was about to post. Lots of speculation the last few months that some acquisitions among energy companies would be taking place.

Edit - I never understand down votes on some responses LOL.

Is Noble's gas project in the Mediterranean that good? Noble's Permian and Eagleford acreage is meh at best. DJ is good but the state is trying to push O&G out.

APC and NBL were valued about the same before this last down turn. Chevron laughing all the way to the bank.

Wouldn't be surprised a bit if they end up OXY/APC as well before it's all over with.

Oxy will have to go through bankruptcy to discharge some of their bad debt. No one is taking that on at current prices.

Oxy's debt load just happened last year so they have several years to figure it out before it becomes a major issue.

WTI holding steady at $40 lately. We need more re-openings to get it to continue to climb. I’ll take $50 at this point to keep the industry fairly stable.

My wife works in NBL corporate office in CFO’s organization.

It’s shocking that so many people at Noble corporate believe they’ll have a job at CVX waiting for them. My wife doesn’t believe she’ll be retained, so do we wait for the formal announcement, which would include 12 weeks pay or aggressively search for new employment...that’s what we’ve got to think about.

Man Chevron is so lucky for Vicki and Oxy. Would be in a completely different position had they acquired Anadarko.

Solid dirt cheap add-on in the Permian for Chevron plus nice adds with the international assets and NBLX midstream interest. Imagine Chevron will sell the Eagle Ford assets. Curious what they’ll do with the DJ Basin stuff - really big asset.

Hopefully get the CO government to pull its head out its arse and let the asset's be developed. Then hire me so I can move there and get the hell out of LA.

Take the 12 weeks and the severance. You will likely need it while trying to find new employment. Even if she finds new employment quickly it will likely be for significantly less income.

I thought Weld County had far less restrictions and was more o&g friendly than the other CO counties?

I was contacted last week by someone I know who is working with ADNOC now about a DE job. I'll have a look at that but in the meantime I'm training for another career. Not sure I want to go back when I can work from home and eventually make the same or more with a fraction of the stress and none of the job insecurity.

What's your plans?

They are but not sure the economics are there for the DJ. It’s likely activity for the foreseeable future will be in the NG plays and the Delaware basin.

I am still employed for now but I am looking for an exist. I am done with the stress and pay cuts. Hoping to land a Sales Engineer/Industrial Sales spot. Luckily the Mrs. just landed a new job that pays more so that will help with the pay cut I will take from switching industries.

What are you training for if you dont mind me asking?

Are you living back stateside?
