I'll post what Amex offers me next week when I call. But there is nothing they can offer to get me to pay the $450 annual fee
Ya, even though I'm not a fan of giving up all that information for Global Entry, that card fee almost forces you to take that $100 benefit. Of course, the cost is only one year as GE is good for 5 years.
Might as well pack your house and stick it on the plane to use up those airline credits they give you.

Thanks for the insight. I just took the 400 dollar credit and put it towards my last semester of tuition. I will do a little more research when I have a real job and can actually afford to travel lol

I don't have the platinum... I have the delta card. So no global entry
Delta Sky club has just gone so down hill that I will just pay the $25 to go in when I actually want to.
Tom: I would have given you $400 cash for those points

I'm fairly confident that I already know the answer, but it never hurts to ask: if you have a sapphire card, will Chase give you a sign up bonus to get you to upgrade to preferred?

No.... But you can get the ink card and get 50000 points

wiki says you're better off using bitcoins in order to avoid all of these free money rebates.
I booked a flight to Australia this week ($7,000) on my Chase Sapphire card and not only do I get an interest free loan of $7K for almost a month, but I also get $140 in gift cards from Amazon.com (my first choice) which I will use to buy more "free" books for my Kindle.

Start with the Ink Bold to get 50,000 points. Then after a year get the ink plus for another 50,000 points. If they ask you why you need both cards just tell them you like the fact that the Ink Plus allows you to pay over time. After you have gotten both of the business cards then you can get the Sapphire Preferred card (try to wait for the 50,000 point bonus for that card as well).
As Teddy stated wait until you know what flight you are trying to book and then look into how many miles it will take for that flight based on the cost. Generally you always get more value from transferring points into the mileage program that offers the best deal for the specific flight you are looking to book.
I could provide countless examples but a flight from Houston to Belize generally cost around $850 but only takes 35,000 United Miles. As such you are getting 2.4 cents per mile instead of 1.25 cents.
