Car Insurance for teenager

Live in NOLA, who has a decent rate. Daughter got her license and need best rate.

Go to an agent that can get you a quote from multiple insurance carriers. Stay away from the Go Autos and The General. You’ll be screwed if you ever actually have to file a claim with them

No such thing as affordable insurance for a teen. My son’s was going to be around $6,000/yr. I don’t leave the house much during the day so we just decided on 2 cars with 3 drivers, which meant an upgrade in what he was getting to drive. Dropped it down to $1,500/yr. for him on a really nice car (and they actually price it on the family’s most expensive car even though he’ll never drive it).

Yep, when my first son started driving my insurance agent told me to never get a third car if I could help it, fortunately during that time period I had a company car for work.

No need to use an agent when it only takes a few minutes to contact several carriers online.

I do agree with sticking with the larger carriers as they are typically easier to deal with during the claims process.
