Can a small business owner sue the state for discrimation

Louisiana. Any real or tv lawyers know the answer. How does my small business get selected as non-essential and a liquor store is not. I can only think that I do not have a cash register to collect sales tax. Seems unconstitutional. Attorney General Barr warned the states recently about this very same thing dealing with over reach and discrimination.
Is the state "completely" protected. Thanks and fire away.

We can’t answer this without knowing what your business is

Sure you can..But you will be the 1st to know if I go forward with it. Any knowledge of the subject or just an opinion..

Answer the question. The likely answer is no, you have no recourse.

From a business owner's perspective, this will be a complete waste of your time. You will also spend a LOT of money in the process - probably way more than you are thinking. It's your time and money but the chances of you being successful are very slim. I realize that you are frustrated (as anyone would be) but you should definitely consider a different strategy as this will lead you nowhere. I am willing to bet that lighting your money on fire would be more entertaining than to go through the legal process as you are describing.

you can sue for anything if you have and are willing to waste the money.

How is anyone supposed to answer this when you have not provided what your business does. Not all small businesses were shut down and not all corporations were allowed to stay open. The shut down was based on what your business does not the size or bankroll. Were any major corporations allowed to stay open that do exactly what your business does and nothing else?
This sounds like an emotional post and you aren't looking for any real advice. FWIW, I am not saying you shouldn't be emotional during these times but try to understand what board you are on and the general culture of the board.

Not an emotional response. Just asking.

What makes you think you'd ever collect anything, even in the highly unlikely event that you were to win a lawsuit ?

I am not even going that far. What makes him think he is even entitled to something let alone collect anything. Nothing he has provided would lead me to believe he is even entitled to anything even outside of the courts system.

Your business has not been discriminated against, individually.
Maybe, maybe, some legal scholar can make an argument that a group of businesses, of which you may belong, were discriminated against. But governments have wide powers in times of emergencies, so I doubt they would be found at any fault.
You "can' sue whoever you want, doesn't mean it won't be tossed out.
