I am talking about coinbase.....
coinbase does charge for their services though.
https://coinbase.com/merchants
first $1,000,000 in processing is free, after that they charge 1%
here's bitpay's pricing: https://bitpay.com/pricing
bitpay offers a monthly subscription model, or you can opt for a 1% option
just to clear up any confusion to anyone reading these threads: coinbase offers both merchant processing services AND offers the ability for individuals to purchase bitcoins from them.
bitpay only offers merchant processing services

You can't have it both ways. You can't say it's easy. Then say it's complex and requires specialized knowledge. Then say it's easy again.

do you ever hear bitcoin talked about in real life? Outside of TD, the interwebs, and media, do your friends, coworkers, random conversations you hear, ever involve bitcoin?
No, I honestly wouldn't know what one is if it wasn't for Wiki.
I will say that CNBC has done a bunch of segments on it over the past few months, but no, none of my friends, co-workers, etc have ever said a single thing about Bitcoin.

See, that's me. I mentioned earlier I was home with a sick kid yesterday and Bloomberg mentioned it, but if it wasn't for TD, I would have just ignored it and went on with what I was doing. At least I sort of know what it is, I guess.

You serious, bro?
The first quote is me having a discussion with you about the difficulty in setting up a hidden service in the TOR network. Now granted, I'm sure grandma couldn't do it, but there are a great many people with IT experience that would be able to easily do it. Regardless, that conversation had very little to do with bitcoin in general so it's not even relevant.
The second quote is true. Transacting with bitcoin is quick, easy, safe, and painless. I'm going to guess that most of you have never done it. Anyway, sending and receiving bitcoin is easy. There are other aspects of bitcoin that are not.
The third quote is something I said specifically about myself. I don't see how it's relevant in any way.
And the fourth quote again refers to something extremely specific about bitcoin, and is likely something that 99% of users will never do and never have a desire to do.

Yes I'm serious. It's hard, it's easy. Mtgox is the place, wait it's the devil. Merchants are everywhere now, wait, it's expanding every day but still slow now. How the frick is anybody supposed to take you serious when you can't pin down one position? Ever.

That's how he is always able to try to talk down to anyone disagreeing with him. People that haven't followed him and yall go back and forth for a while would never notice all the conflicting things, and would just be like "wow that Wiki sure knows everything."

How do you think he's convinced all of the mouth breathers on the OT that he's some genius. He's played both sides of the fence since forever.

Let me summarize wiki's posting history regarding bitcoin:
1) Bitcoin is easy and requires very little technical skills.
2) Bitcoin is complex and requires specialized knowledge.
3) Bitcoin is safe and secure.
4) Bitcoin is risky and not for everyone.
5) Bitcoin is anonymous.
6) Bitcoin is not anonymous but can be anonymous if you put a lot of effort into it. Well, almost anonymous if you put a lot of effort into it.
7) Smart people are buying bitcoins.
8) I don't recommend that anyone buy bitcoins.
9) Bitcoin transactions are free or almost free.
10) There are built in fees with bitcoin paid to the original miner and coinbase charges a 1% fee for their services.
11) Bitcoin transactions are instantaneous.
12) Bitcoin transactions may take some time, maybe as long as several hours, to be verified and completed.
13) I use MtGox for pricing bitcoin because it's the largest and only credible exchange with a long history of exchanging bitcoins.
14) MtGox is not a reliable source for determining the price of bitcoin.
15) MtGox has solved their withdrawal issues and people can get their money out quickly now.
16) MtGox is not allowing any USD withdrawals or they are very slow in letting people withdraw their money.
17) Bitcoin is the world's largest and best known crypto-currency.
18) The problem with bitcoin is that people think of it as a currency.
19) Governments can try to regulate bitcoin but they will fail.
20) If governments start regulating bitcoin it will just add legitimacy to bitcoin as a crypto-currency and make bitcoin more widely accepted.
21) The Federal Reserve (and the U.S. government) is a den of crooks who only want to steal our money by inflating the dollar.
22) Ben Bernanke and members of congress have had some favorable things to say about bitcoin which proves bitcoin is becoming legitimate.
Am I the only one who sees a pattern of contradictory posts by wiki regarding bitcoin? (Maybe I've left out some of his contradictions. Please feel free to add others that you remember.)

Why would he be pissed?
We're a part of something revolutionary, the naysayers only make it more fun.

Thats funny. Just last week you told me the biggest pro to Bitcoins was the destruction and waste of the "middle man". Only to find out, middle men are very much needed for ease and security.

Starting to look pretty pathetic on your part.

Yes, regulation and security will very much be needed.
Unless you concede that Bitcoins will never be anything more than a nerds project.
