I’ve seen some of the FIRE sites, but most seem for people just starting.

I’m interested in knowing if I’ve got enough to quit working.

I’ve got a military pension and I have a side job that I would keep for awhile.

It’s the main job that I no longer enjoy.

I don’t think I would have to draw, any until 70.

I think I’ll continue until the kids are out of college which is 3 to 5 years.

It depends how frugal you are...i retired at 60...i was forced out by a very mean but a christian man who is big in his church....he is nothing more than a religious hypocrite and I hated working for him....after 27 years I had enough and I'm very happy...you will be too...GO AHEAD AND RETIRE NOW NOT LATER

I turn 62 in December, right now planning to retire in June. I have retirement fever so bad that every week is hell. Been in Insurance for 38 years & burnt out. My wife is younger, so she still has 5 or more years to go. I don't have a ton of money, but pulled to buy a new roof & AC system, get rid of the big cost items now. The only problem is scaling back the luxuries- that is going to be tough...

The year I retired I set up everything for my retirement during the last week of November with my last work day being Dec 31, it was the longest month of my life.

Wondering about health insurance for a husband and wife after retirement. Anybody know what the options are and associated approximate costs? To keep what we currently have, health and dental. I don't understand all the Obamacare/ACA vs. what Trump plan would be with selecting your own private insurance, etc.

I’ve never been a workaholic, but this current situation is not healthy.

If the right 5 people happened to leave, it would improve a great deal, but I don’t see that being probable.

I will suck it up for awhile longer and hope they leave or change. Maybe the organization will offer an early out.

I make a nice living, but my actual life has been negatively affected by these morons.

Sadly, this is not uncommon.

The only person who should be “big” at Church is God/Christ/Holy Spirit.

The rest of us are equally small.

any standard retirement calculator should work for you.

I think Personal Capital has one built in if you are using their free site to monitor your investments.

Assuming that you're old enough to be eligible for Medicare, then you would probably want to purchase a Medicare supplement policy to ensure complete, robust coverage. I can tell you that my 80ish year old parents pay $800/mo for both to be covered by a Medicare supplement.

Spoke recently with a friend in late 50s who is self employed: his family's healthcare costs him $1,900/mo. Ouch.

If you have a military pension and tricare? Then you can retire at any point lol. Its really just about how much you want to spend...which we have no idea without you giving more details.

Does the family plan include children or just the husband/wife?

You can use COBRA for 18 months to stay on your current plan. Unfortunately you will probably be shocked at what it costs. At my job I pay $280/ month currently. If I go COBRA it’s over $1800. By law the max they can charge you is the real cost plus 3%. Health care will dictate everything about when you can retire
