Do you mean except for the three thousand, five hundred dollars up front?
And the $60k required to establish a whole life policy with an immediate $40k cash value.

Why pay $2500 for an intern when you can get the real McCoy for $2499

anytime the sentence starts with "buy a whole life policy"
Walk away-
Learn about investing- whole life is a poor investment strategy and only benefits the person selling the policy

Thanks for just regurgitating what Dave Ramsey says.
If you know about the product and know how to use it properly whole life insurance policies are an effective investment strategy.

Disclaimer: Never listened to Dave Ramsey in my life, don't even know what he looks like. Disclaimer 2: My dad is an insurance salesman.
I would love to see you explain how a whole life insurance policy is an effective investment strategy. We've had this conversation on here before many times. Forget comparing it to other potential returns, please explain how something that almost always ends up with a negative IRR is effective at anything other than losing you money.
ETA: You don't really have to respond if you don't want to, I'm not trying to pull your thread off course.

An insurance trust to buy term life policies can be an effective strategy.

I can broker a deal in which Putty sends you a copy of TigerDeacon's nuts for $1500. My commission is 25%.
