These wildly expensive IPOs turn the market into a bipolar mental patient

neither OpenAI nor Anthropic have any business being public companies. Call me a communist but both should be nationalized or become non-profit research institutions

I do not trust either nor do I trust the current administration to manage this in a prudent manner.

This is how you crash the market.

I will be surprised if they actually go public -- i doubt they can get the public valuation they are after.

2025 financials are effectively useless at this point other than confirming they lose a ton of money. This is all about how they keep 10x-ing the business every year for who knows how many years.

I don't think it'll be full USSR nationalization, more CCP style. Like he did with Intel. The treasury takes a 10% stake and the rubes ignore the math and pile in on IPO day.

On a long timeline I think closed source AI dies. Open source, decentralized AI wins eventually imo. And if we don't get our shite together soon that means China wins the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The gap is the growth prospects. If the growth maintains even 50% of its current pace, Anthropic becomes a behemoth. We’ve never seen a company at this scale of revenue grow this quickly

Their compute needs grow at the same pace. Barring a govt sponsored Manhattan Project to increase grid capacity that includes subsides for AI they have no chance of turning a profit in the next decade (according to their own numbers).

“leaving these shares for my grandchildren”
“how can I get framed stock certificates?”
“I’ll never sell these shares”

Like that?
sounds familiar

This will certainly be the first IPO in history that relies upon invoking the National Defense Authorization Act just to achieve minimum expectations.
