right.

that is a STATE LAW buddy.

"any combination of these which are comparably lower than emissions from gasoline or diesel"

that will cover just about any new vehicle on the market that runs on E90. This is a more liberal standard than what comes after the "OR" and therefore makes any reference to clean air standards moot.

You might want to change your name.

Duckslayer, lets revisit something. I know that some users posted a response from e-mail inquiry from a tax analyst. This person responded that the credit was legit, pecanmans email response was from a different person whos viewpoint was 180 degrees different from the other one. How could this be?

I am wondering the same thing???

Good Morning,

The vehicle would be eligible for this credit if it is listed on the motor
vehicle registration. Below is a link which can be used to determine if the
vehicle qualifies as a flex fuel vehicle:

www.propelfuels.com / search "vehicles" by make and model to determine if VIN
character matches designation of flex fuel vehicle.
Contact the office at 225 219-0102, if additional assistance is required.
Thank You

Heres what we know. The state has a process in place where they are using the propel fuels website to look up taxpayers' VINS. They are determining with this process that the filing tax payer has a true flex fuel vehicle. They been doing this for 3 years. Pecanmans email came from someone that has a totally opposite opinion. In fact , the words flex fuel are her argument against us. Yet their process, for three years has been to correctly identify the vehicle as flex fuel to grant a refund? Sounds like someone just changed their mind cause they wanted to for ehatever reason....

E85 meets or exceeds Federal Clean Air Admission standards. That's the language I'm holding onto.

ETA: You're the same fricking loser who though your Ecoboost was eligible.

Well guys, that could be the problem. E-10s versus the E85s.

i guess i dont have my internet law degree like some tools on here.

the tax credit covers any blend of biofuel that burns cleaner than gasoline or diesel. Any standard E-90 vehicle will qualify ("ecoboost" included).

If the state is not distinguishing the E85s from the E10s then they have a bigger mess on their hands. The whole point we have to prove to rhem is that an E85 is truly an alternative fuel vehicle. The dept of energy guidelines that duckslayer used prove this out.....

Lol, i wish i had never read about the credit in here. I got my hopes up for the $3,000. But its in the research. Its clear the state just dosen't want to pay these valud refunds on the qualifying flex fuels.....

This is what I received from the Dept. of Rev.

Flex fuel vehicles are not eligible for the Louisiana Alternative Fuel Tax Credit at this time. Revenue Statute 47:6035 states the vehicle needs to be a qualified car and provides some examples, which includes, ethanol. The Louisiana Department of Revenue consults federal rules. The federal alternative fuel tax credit may be granted if the vehicle burns only alternative fuel. In this instance, because the vehicle still runs on gasoline, it would not qualify for the credit. Additionally, flex fuel vehicles only require slight modification and are basically like regular vehicles. Please feel free to contact me through this medium at any time. All inquiries are answered in the order in which they are received. This reply to your inquiry constitutes "informal advice" from the Louisiana Department of Revenue, as contemplated by Louisiana Administrative Code 61:III.101(D)(3), which provides that informal advice does not have the force and effect of law and is not binding on the Department, the public, or the individual seeking advice. Informal advice will have no effect on an audit. Roofdog, the different opinions presented on this forum are very interesting. And the emotions can run high, too! We got "fricking loser", "suck it", and "you need to change your name" all in one week!
