AGI over 200k - Stimulus payment?

Despite telling my wife that we made too much money for a stimulus payment, she talked me into checking eligibility on the irs site. It said we were eligible. Do kids increase the AGI limit?

Not at all. This isn't the OT.

Found it for anyone else wondering. 198k is the married/joint limit with no children.

I think you get $500 per kid no matter your income.
I'm not 100% on that though.

It's in the PDF linked above. It's phased out as the AGI increases.

I stand corrected.

So I see that my fiancee is eligible to get a refund. We have been together for 3 years and have kids but have yet to officially tie the knot.
I work for the family business and do not qualify.
My question is could she fill out the non-filers thing and claim our children? Worth a shot?

Who normally claims the kids?

Think of it this way. First you figure out your max amount based on filing status and dependents. Then, based on filing status, you phase it out. There is no real "upper limit", you just apply the phase out until you run out of AGI or run out of potential payment.

Maybe your 2018 income was below the threshold?

Did you file your 2019 taxes yet? It's probably bc your AGI on 2018 return is less than $198K.

No, I shared the link with the phase out calculation above. 198k is the limit for married with no kids.

I received $331.35 from a random deposit from the IRS unexpectedly a couple days ago. I have already filed 2019 returns and my AGI was a little over 200. Married with 2 kids. I assume that random deposit is a stimulus payment...that or a mistake, I guess.
