Hey Guys, looking to finish my exams this year. I have passed BEC and AUD. Studying for FAR right now. Using Becker. Just finished F2 and it was a beast. Took me nearly three whole days to finish it completely and I will definitely need to revisit before exam day. Struggled a bit with it.
Just thought it would be cool to see who on the board is taking it and just discuss it in general. MY FAR exam is scheduled for July 2nd.
ETA: F2 is Becker's second part of the study course for FAR. Long section with numerous word problems.

Been on it for a year and I'm using Wiley CPAExcel. Wiley has worked well for me (Becker was too expensive) and I would recommend it to anyone as a cheaper alternative. I passed REG and FAR on the first tries but I had to take AUD a second time to pass. I'm taking BEC in a week so hopefully I'll be done soon.

I have only ever tried Becker, are the layouts similar? A teacher of mine in college was a huge proponent of Wiley materials.

I guess I technically still have to take the Texas ethics test, not even sure how to do that haha.

I will have to do that too after I finish my exams. I am sure some folks here can shed some light on that but I will talk to my co-workers to get some input from them as well.

I'm not sure honestly. I've only ever used Wiley

Not taking the exams right now but good luck to everyone who is! Keep helping us get our money back from the government.

My role in that is limited. I work in external audit.

I did external for 4 years then internal for 3.5. Now I'm in industry and I'll never go back to public accounting

That is 100% understandable.

I finished it in 2012 so fairly recent. The board just mails that to you soon after you pass all four parts of the exam.
Once you get it, you just fill out the exam and mail it back to them. Real simple process and there is nothing to worry about with that piece of the process (not sure if you were or not).

I finished the tests months back; just waiting on the year of professional experience. Glad I'm done studying.
FAR takes a ton more time than the other 3, but I found it a lot more enjoyable than the other material sans the economics & blaw portions of BEC & REG.
ETA: F2 is a piece of shite. It's the single worst lesson in Becker. FAR was the first section I took, so that lesson made me want to douse my book in gasoline and set it ablaze.

Did you revisit F2 during your final review?
Posted on 5/12/15 at 11:10 am to JumpingTheShark
I revisited everything, but I admittedly blew through the material the first time through. And I likely overstudied in general; I wasn't retaking tests.

What is F2? Wiley never mentioned anything like that.

Yeah, this time I just wanted to get through the lecture, took a while to answer the questions, but will be harder on it during final review.

For Becker the FAR studying is divided into 10 sections and they label them F1, F2, etc.
F2 is the section on Matching of Revenues and Expenses, and Correcting and Adjusting Accounts. it is just extremely long and 95% of the questions are very labor intensive and time consuming. It is tough to get thru.

Gotcha...Wiley breaks down the material a little differently

In like Flynn.
I've passed one section, and I wanted to take a section at the end of this month, but I have to travel for work.
