It depends on how much risk you want to take.

If you had 20+ years, I’d say 50% QQQM , 50% VTI/ITOT, set and forget.
Since you’re 10 years out, I think a strong case could be made to just buy US treasuries which will be churning out 5+% for the foreseeable future.

I'm glad this came up. My wife needs to take some draws from business profit. Won't be anywhere near that amount, at least not all at once. She's 54, I'm 58. Tempted to put it in VTSAX or a tax free bond fund. Got a fair amount in T-bills getting 5+ short term. But I think we are in the "within 10 yrs to retirement " bracket you hear so much about

10 years to retirement also means you have at least 20 years of retirement on the other side of that date. I’d go half at Tbills but put the other half in VTI. You still need 30 years of growth to live well.

10 years from retirement, I’d break it into about 5-6 allocations.
Treasuries (ladder)
Investment Grade Corporate Bonds (ladder)
Municipal Bonds (ladder)
Value Mutual Funds
Premium Money Market (5%+) so you have ability to capitalize on future market trends/events.

6 allocations on $122k is overkill imo.

Could be, the only way to know for sure is in hindsight, but I retired at 55 and have been a proponent of diversification which worked for me. I’ve also had buddies that were way under diversified which has caused some pain. It doesn’t matter if you have $20k or $2M, I like multiple pot$.

122 in a trad Ira? Or checking account?

Vanguard total stock market fund is always a good choice.

VOO or VTI. No need for both.

Agree with "It doesn’t matter if you have $20k or $2M" and diversification. Might not agree with your choices, but that is ok.

Two years ago, I invested on BTC and I am $2K under. At this point I'm giving up on them lol.

VOO. You avg 8-10%. No way I buy Treasuries with 10 years to go and the need to keep growing after that.

ESG’s and Bitcoin would be your best bet
