We've done this ... as the SELLER. This baseball season, we bought 2 print at home tickets (we were buying and keeping the ones we needed as we needed 5). We got what we wanted and then sold the other 2 print at home to a dad and son for face value. I actually went to the gate with them to make sure that they scanned ... dad seemed appreciative. And I was happy to do it.
I applaud you 1,000 %.
Great Tiger.
I have done that also, but for a football game - Florida '07 !!
I had two extra tickets right next to me and my buddy's seats, and I actually looked for the saddest looking father and son with their fingers in the air that I could find - and sold them for face value. Of course because they were right next to us, we HAD to walk to the ticket takers together :)
Boy were they happy !!!

I have bought and sold tickets numerous times on here over the years without meeting face to face and have never had a problem. I live just outside of Memphis,TN.

Do not buy tickets from anyone that you cannot do a person by person exchange or a process you are comfortable with.
I posted a request for LSU tix and got an email and later a call from a guy who wanted me to pay using Western Union. He wanted the deal done immediately. I was not comfortable and bailed on the deal. I am almost sure it was a scam.
I later bought my LSU/ Wash tickets from Stub Hub with no issues.

What was the name of the guy who had scammed multiple people last year or year before and got arrested and it made WAFB or the Advocate? Also, what I have done is always get the person to call at specific times and not use a PO Box.

I never understood why Chicken allows ppl to scalp tickets on this site. I can see ppl wanting to atleast get the percentage of their tradition fund with the ticket price but beyond that is scalping. last time I looked scalping was illegal in louisiana.

This is from 2006, but I think the only thing that has changed is that you are allowed to ask for face + any donation you made to acquire the ticket (e.g. Tradition Fund or TAF fee):
quote:
Louisiana • Prohibits ticket scalping except through the Internet • Allows tickets sold through an Internet website that meets the following criteria to resell tickets without price limits o Website must be authorized by original seller and venue o Must guarantee full refund if the event is canceled, the purchaser is denied admission through no fault of his own, or the ticket is not delivered as promised and this results in an inability to attend the event o Website must disclose its guarantees (La. Rev. Stat. § 4: 1)

chicken doesn't allow scalping, this is a member generated web site, chicken does not censor the content of our posts, only post that are forwarded to the administrator are reviewed, of course chicken reads a lot of the post, but he can't be expected to review all

I just wanted every one to know that the scammer has contacted someone as recently as Friday 8/21. He is still lurking around here. Be careful.

a lady in arizona emailed me with the same story, and there are quite a few scammers on craigslist, just waiting for a sucker to sent that money via walmart, money order, or western union, also the scammers come out on ebay this time of the year, if it looks too good to be true, then its not true, the ole hook line and sinker, another fish is caught

Ditto. I live in Denver. There are 3-4 games a year I won't be able to make. And usually 1 game a year I'm looking for tickets. I generally use PayPal or meet in person if the timing works out. Haven't been burned yet.

several times posters have tried to scam me, but on the whole, 99% of the tigerdroppings posters are honest hard working people who like to help out other tiger fans, a guy bought 4 of my tckets to a game in 2007, my seat was in the row
in front of the seats, after the game he called and said that I had sold him fake ticket{my tickets came from the ticket office} and he wanted his money back. when I told him that I had sat in the seat in front of the ones sold and that his friends sat in the seats until halftime, because the game was a runaway, he hung up and was never heard from again, yes, he had paid the price printed on the ticket.

Use a U.S. Postal money order if buying tickets and if they are not received, it is mail fraud.

I contacted a person posting on here saying they were in Atlanta and weren't going to be able to attend any games this year. All I had to do was pay them a deposit through Paypal and then I'd get the tickets in August when he received them. After insisting that he sign a contract, meet in person, that I wasn't paying half of the cost up front, and that all of the posters on TD.com would likely require the same thing he never contacted me again.
Thought you were talking about me for a second, but I never had anyone insist on that set of rules. I sold most of my season tickets to a guy on the board here. He asked me how did he know he could trust me and that he would get the tickets. I told him he didn't. Paid me a deposit and then the balance when I got the tickets before I mailed them. He got his tickets in the mail from me about a month ago.
I wouldn't mind doing paypal and emailing the tickets, so long as the buyer pays those fees.
