You don't have a problem with these huge, super-athletic football players going around fighting regular dudes in college bars?

the way you type it out it makes it sound like they went out and randomly started beating people up.

maybe it doesn't matter who started it. but the way you say it makes it sound a lot worse than what i think happened.

Try listening to this on a smartphone. I let my wife (does not follow this story) listen to it a couple times and gave her a multiple choice exam with option of 1) 5-0 2)Jarvo or 3)Jeff. She said the only thing she could make out for certain was "jarvo".

She actually had me change my mind from thinking 5-0 to Jarvo. The resolution on phone is a tad better but you still cant clearly identify much.

can't see any distinguishing marks anywhere in that video

but it does look like the person on the ground was kicked more than once by more than one person

also I think the "jarvo" some of you are hearing is the crowd saying "5-0" as in Hawaii 5-0, obviously the cops were close or pulling up at the end

again, I certainly can't make out faces or anything close to something that is real evidence

I have a pretty good sound card on this computer and good headphones. I just put them on, put the sound up as loud as I can stand and this is what I hear.

"Hey! Hey hey hey hey hey 5 0 50 50 50 50 50 Jordan! 50! Jeff jeff 50 jeff 50! Come on! COme on! Come on!"

I also here "Whoa Jeff whoa whoa!"

I also here "DONT frick WITH ME!"

Take it for what it's worth. I'm about to download the video and slow it down as well as the audio.

Didn't the players tell police they weren't even there? This all makes me sick to my stomach. Swift action needs to be taken. No player is bigger than the program.

No ..the kick looked like it did some damage, the guy's body moved in a different position.

Whoever did that should be prosecuted, if for nothing else, just being a jackass to do some shite like that.

I agree.

The guy on the ground getting kicked did not look unconscious though. Was that part of the story?

No, I get it. You're ok with football players beating people up, as long as the other people "deserve" it.

Exactly. I don't support fighting just to fight. I have no issue with fighting to protect. I do have an issue with talking shite, getting hit, and then running to your lawyer because of who hit you.

Verbal assault sometimes is cause enough to throw down.

I was responding to BMY who is saying that football players in general should not be suspended for fighting.

How does doing it "on the field" make it any worse?

If anything, swinging at someone on the field is milder than a fight at a bar. No matter how you slice it, if an LSU player is involved in the fight, he should be suspended. Playing football is a privilege and you should have the mental capacity to understand the gravity of the situation and walk away. Self defense would be the only exception IMO.

for what exactly? in this country, we don't convict without due process.

I am a huge fan and watch every second of LSU football and I am not 100% sure I could identify 3 LSU players out in public unless they were wearing a uniform much less by watching a grainy, dark video shot during the middle of the night

per reports everyone was gone before the cops got there, so, i don't see where 5-0 fits in

Sounded like Jarvo or Jabo to me.

One thing I did realize is: If the guy was kicked behind the head then the broken Vertebrae couldnt be Lumbar, they would have to be the upper ones I would think. JMO

Lumbar would be the result of being stomped on the lower back or falling hard to the ground maybe. Again JMO.

A defenseless guy was kicked. A video confirms that fact. Multiple eyewitnesses have identified the perp.

Its pretty much over at this point

I agree with everything you've pointed out, BUT there are also eyewitnesses that say JJ was the peacemaker, that he wasn't the one that kicked the dude in the head. So my thing is, who do you believe? The video is inconclusive and the stories seem to cancel each other out.
