I think what we are seeing is the mix of incredible youth and inexperience being managed by an old staff that is complacent

When you reach a certain age and success in life you can lose your edge. I don't mean your competitiveness, I mean your desire to innovate, develop and motivate a new group of players. Couple that with an incredibly high rate of attrition and we don't see the peer leadership we are used to

So we have a team of young guys being led by a staff of old guys and the product is a game like tonight where a young and hungry HC in tune with his team ran circles around LSU

The loss of peer leadership is crucial

The complacency of the coordinators to keep implementating schemes that the modern game has passed by is awful

I agree with complacency, but this guy is flat out stubborn and does stupid shite that kills momentum, loses games in bone headed fashion, or gets LSU skull fricked.

The down side of this is Texas under Mack hiring the hot coordinator of the minute while the fundamentals of the program crumble and fall apart

Leadership starts at the top, either miles finds something to reinvigorate his program or the program decline is real and it is basically impossible to stop

Not just leadership but senior skill sets.

To me this is the main thing. Miles is too stubborn to realize its not 1970 anymore. He thinks he can line up in the power I and over power every opponent. Regardless of what the in-game calls are, there is a designed game plan and Les signs off on that. He knows what they're going to attempt to do when game time comes and its not working anymore. He refuses to address that and its fricking us.

Agreed. But that's what Les has let happen. Our staffs best days are behind them. Need some youth and hunger Some fresh concepts

This season is making me wonder what happened at the end of Cam's tenure with the Ravens

Was he so stubborn and disconnected from Flacco, Rice etc that he allowed himself to get fired over it?

We know miles us stubborn, we may be seeing the King of Stubborn in cam

But miles is also known as profoundly loyal

So how far does it slip? Is everything a wait til next year song and dance?

What if the problems are deeper than merely youth. Can LSU and TAF afford a Texas like fall without the deep pockets behind the program that Texas has?

The thing is, our offense was good last year. And despite the youth on offense, can we say that this year in any way resembles the offense they ran last year? Sure we lost playmakers like Mett Landry and Beckham. But those aggressive play calls aren't there anymore. And to me that's on Miles being afraid of turnovers with young QBs.

IMO when we struggle year after year after year, through multiple OCs and multiple QBs, its not the coordinators or the players. There's one common factor there.

We also don't have an NFL power I QB that understands play action fakes and has the authority to change plays

Our version of check with me probably looks like kindergarten to Malzahn and Mullen

This doesn't explain how Snyder wins almost every year.

Would we settle for Snyder level of success here?

Nope

Would Snyder succeed in the SECW with the program he has?

Nope

Could Snyder do better with LSU talent than miles has?

Probably

Could Snyder recruit at LSU like miles does?

No way

Saban is the definition of
anti-complacency

He has standards and holds everyone accountable at the expense of relationships

Just look at his OCs at BAMA
