At the end of the regular season, 9-3 looks decent of paper. But if you look at it week to week, not so much.
LSU played two of the worse teams from the eastern division in Florida and Tennessee. Syracuse finished last in their division in the ACC and was the next to last team in the entire conference. BYU had one of their worse seasons in years and Chattanooga was terrible as well.
Only 5 of their 12 opponents had winning records, and if you take Auburn and Alabamas records out of the mix, LSU's opponents went a whopping 53 wins, 65 losses.
Really not that impressive.

I admit I was in full panic mode. Thought this was going to be a full out disaster. Fans over react but MSU-Syracuse and Troy happened in succession. LSU really looked like poop in those 3 games. Both lines looked weak, no fight in the team. Got to give the players and coaches credit for fighting back like Tigers!

I'll eat crow. I thought we were missing out on a bowl game.
See, when you lose to a Sun Belt team at home, it's reasonable to think that the team isn't very good at football.
Only a homer would have predicted that we finish this strong.
That being said, we feasted on a weak SEC. This is still among the worst seasons of LSU football since 2003, IMO, and it's hard to imagine us being significantly better next year.
I'm sorry, not trying to be a downer - it's just tough for me to get excited.

Once Aranda leaves and 3/4 star recruits becomes the norm, 9-3 will be really impressive. O doesn't have any effect on LSU outcomes. His job is to stay out of the way.

We haven't won 6 SEC games in 4 seasons. Miles was getting torn apart in the SEC by shittier teams. This season was an improvement even with a loss to Troy. process over results

Coach O has done a hell of a job this season and that should give everyone of our fans optimism heading forward. I love how O shut all of the frick boys that doubted him up. Hes a good coach and should be recognized as such from our own fricking fans for God's sake. LSU fans need to shut up and be thankful for ed and get behind this program. They need and deserve our support. Geaux tigers!

Good post, I'm sure you getting flak. But, it is surprising we ran the table except for the elephant in the room, and we Are hot on his heels.
Next year we beat them, but then, we have to go to auburn.
Things are looking up.

Well I did totally pull that out of my arse, but I wasn't too far off. Take a look at Athlon Sports rankings all FBS teams. Here's the SEC teams outside of the top 25 (plus Troy).
38. Texas A&M
39. South Carolina
40. Missouri
46. Kentucky
52. Troy
61. Ole Miss
75. Vanderbilt
78. Arkansas
86. Florida
87. Tennessee

Man, those guys are quick like!
Anyone who hasn't enjoyed our turnaround this season can literally go somewhere else.
That Auburn reach around from behind was one of the best I've ever had. I've thoroughly enjoyed our growth this season. It was long overdue but nonetheless hard as a rock to overcome.
