Damn son

Some of my favorite memories come from seasons around 2005-08 when we weren't that great but the 2.5K fans that still went to the games were passionate. I still went often and you could get a great seat every game. It made it that much sweeter when LSU turned it around halfway through 08.

Another one is what's his face for UCLA trying to intentionally walk Cresse in game 1 of the 2000 super regional and throwing over his catcher's head, letting the runner from 3rd score.

Pretty much kicking their So Cal asses both games that series is my memory.

1989 College Station regional. "Rape and pillage the village". Some of Bertman's best work as a motivator. I listened to it on the radio but felt like I was there.

A&M regional back in '86 I think. Had to take two from the top-ranked Aggies to advance.

Blasted them in the first game behind Big Ben, then won an extra-inning thriller in the second game to advance.

Garrity I think hit the big double off the wall for the big hit.

It was the watershed moment for Skip and LSU baseball. It was on from there.

In the South I Regional, LSU lost the winner's bracket final to South Alabama, forcing the Tigers to win three games in the space of 24 hours in order to return to Omaha. The Tigers survived a grueling five-hour marathon with Long Beach State, winning 14–7 in 11 innings, despite Bertman's ejection in the eighth inning for arguing a balk call. On a 95-degree Memorial Day, LSU defeated South Alabama 14–4 and 15–4 to advance to the CWS

In 98 the first game in the CWS against USC was sweet. We were just launching the frick out of balls left and right. At one point one of their pitchers watched one go out and you could read his lips saying "oh my God." Of course, what wasn't so funny was them coming back to deny us the threepeat.

Also in 2000 against USC Hawpe launched one against Mark Prior and Prior was so pissed he yelled at Hawpe all the way around the bases. Then later Hawpe hit another monster shot against another of their pitchers and he kinda pulled the bat back and threw it to the ground real cocky. I frickin' loved it.

Hawpe took a dump on USC in the CWS in 2000. Two homers.

I remember that, that was a good East Carolina team. The game was played on Memorial Day on Monday due to rain

Yeah, the comeback game was actually on Sunday. As soon as the game was over the bottom fell out and the "If Nec." got pushed to Monday, conveniently giving Ainsworth just enough rest to come back from the battle against Sheets on Friday and start the game.

Hawpe also hit the longest HR I've ever seen from an LSU left hander in the Saturday night elimination game against Southern.

2008 College World Series against Rice I believe... Blake Deans 3 run walk off double off the wall to win in the bottom of the 9th... I've never cheered so hard in my life

Too many to name a favorite, but I will throw the 1994 Regional final against USC out there. The Jacque Jones game. Incredible game with that pitch by pitch intensity. Shultz came in and got a K to win the game.

ETA: this was 94 or was it 93? One of the best games I ever attended at the old Box.

The Jones game was 94. They had a hell of a team with Jenkins and the younger Boone also.

Great game. The mother of their 1B and his girlfriend were sitting right behind us. I will never forget that game. The way the crowd gave JJ so much shite and he ended up hitting, what, 3 HRs? The interplay between Jones and the crowd was great.

Listening to WM win the game from a lecture room on campus during a driver's ed class.

Also, In HS we played some games against UHigh. Awesome experience even if we got our asses kicked. I'll never forget that on my first (jv) play at the old Box I let a grounder go right through my legs.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this...and I don't believe anything was on the line but it was pretty awesome when Schimpf and Dean went back to back in the same inning.

Unbelievable and with Cresse's old man climbing over me to get on the field made for memories and photos I'll never forget.

uci game 3 just going old school beat down on them to cap off the box, also stopping a jackass of a coach from closing down the old box with a loss was nice.
