re: Anybody know how Roger Cador is these days?
Posted by bmo81gun on 2/18/25 at 5:10 pm to TexasTiger08
I've got a cool story bro about him.
Years ago Southern was playing Southeastern in Hammond. This is back when there was just a small partition separating the field from the fans.
Anyway, I was standing next to the visitors dugout, which still has the restrooms attached, and Roger came out of the restroom and stood next to me, outside of the field of play, just shooting the bull until the top half of their inning was over. Was probably about 4-5 minutes.
Then he just hopped the fence and went back inside his dugout. We had never met before or since but he was perfectly fine just chatting while the game was happening. Great guy.

Church league softball game. One of our teammates had brought a 7 inch black and white portable TV and had the game on while we played. By the time the bottom of the ninth rolled around, both teams and everybody in attendance were huddled around that tiny screen. We went nuts when the ball cleared the wall. Truly a moment I will never forget. Still get goosebumps everytime I watch the replay.
re: The Raid: Redemption... Go see this movie

Where is it playing at? Last time I checked there were no showings in the BR area. This was weeks ago, though.
I've searched a couple theater web sites with no luck. Hoping someone here might know. Apparently it's a very limited release.

Does anyone know of a theatre that is showing this in the New Orleans or BR area? Looks incredible. Also has anyone seen it? Thoughts?

Not sure if anyone mentioned this...and I don't believe anything was on the line but it was pretty awesome when Schimpf and Dean went back to back in the same inning.
Was at a softball tourney with my dad...thankfully someone thought to bring one of those little black and white portable tv's...about 40 people gathered around a 10 inch tv to catch the last inning. Being young I had a front row seat and just exploded when Morris won it with that swing. Awesome memory! :geauxtigers:
Blood Diamond question
Posted by bmo81gun on 2/9/12 at 2:49 pm
When Solomon went to bury the diamond after he found it, why didn't the warlord just shoot him first then take the diamond? He was going to shoot him anyway the same way he had done the poor sap earlier. Of course then there would be no movie, but still...just a thought.
Went there a ton about 10 years ago. Last time I went was 2007 or so. Never really caught anything but that was because I am a horrible fisherman. But there is this place called chimney rock that has a 40 foot jump you can do if you are into that kind of thing. Lots of boats on the weekends gather just to watch people do the jump. Kinda like a tailgate. I love it out there. Water is absolutely stunning.
First post on this board...figured this was a good thread to jump in.
I define my favorites as movies that I can watch any time they are on. Don't have to be in a particular mood for these. Not necessarily in order
The Princess Bride
Legends of the Fall
Godfather Part 2
The Devil Wears Prada
Red Cliff

I saw those...Ultimate Reloader I believe. Very helpful. Gavin is his name. Put together a great series on his build. I will definately lean on those during the process.
CS4...I think you posted my main concerns. Just want everthing to fit and work together properly.
And 4x4...I have the Daniel Defense lower parts kit and can't wait to see how it performs.

was hoping not to have to buy the headspace guage
This is what I am trying to avoid as well. I want to do it right but am also a novice when it comes to gunsmithing. Confident enough to tackle this project but not enough to try and get crazy with the options. If that makes sense.
Another building an AR-15 thread
Posted by bmo81gun on 1/30/12 at 11:48 am
So the OB got me wanting to build my own AR. Had a Bushmaster several years ago and sold it. Wanted another one ever since and you guys sold me on building my own. I've got the lower receiver and the parts kit. Going to put that together this week. My question is, going forward, are there some brands that are just head and shoulders better when it comes to the bolt carrier group and barrels? And is it better for the upper receiver and parts to be all the same brand to avoid any headspace problems? Any good info and links would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Do you have a link for these statements? I have a Kimber and love it. Haven't shot it enough to have any issues with it. So I'd be curious to know what issues if any should happen down the road. No flame, serious question.
I seem to remember reading that Browning offers a program that exchanges the micro stocks for full size when the kid grows out of them. Someone correct me if I'm wrong
Transporter 2 I believe
re: Cabela's or local gun shop?
Posted by bmo81gun on 12/8/11 at 1:04 pm to crazytigerfan69
I buy local. Reason being to support small business and I can walk in and talk to the guy that sold it to me. Not a different person behind the counter every week. Most big chain stores tell you to send all your complaints to the manufacturer.
My main reason for reading this site is to get a laugh from the Rant after a long day:lol: After that, good info on here. Lastly, never really feel the need. Guess I need to get my average up
Camo on shotguns...advantages?
Posted by bmo81gun on 12/8/11 at 12:19 pm
Does this give the hunter a real advantage in the field or is it just a preference? Personally I like the all black look.
Anyone have any experience with the Buck Ergohunter knife?

Thinking about getting one.
