Wade said he didn't know what he was going to get out of his "young" team before Florida State game. This is the exact same thing JJ said before the tournament game against NC ST and we lost in the exact same fashion both times... Aren't coaches supposed to take responsibility for their rosters? What's with "young" being a good excuse to them? Everyone outside of mid-major and Virgina is young. And judging by how Wade recruits, we're going to have a young team for years to come. Not an excuse.

Are you seriously comparing not knowing what you're gonna get from a young team in their 5th game, which is the first back to back with 3 starting freshman to a post season tournament after 25+ games?

This team still has to figure out it's rotation and what roles the new guys are going to have.

They are young but I'm tired of it being an excuse for fans and coaches. We haven't had an experienced team since Marcus Thorton senior year and we won't have those kinds of teams moving forward.. it's like the ultimate cop out for bball fans accepting losses

You're way, way off here. It's not about "accepting" a loss. Reid, Smart, Williams, Days and Taylor were all the main man on their teams last season. Now they're being asked to play together with only 3 returning starters. Those guys have to figure out what their roles are within the team and it takes time for leaders to emerge. The coaches have to try different combinations with their rotations to see what players play the best together at certain points in the game. This is all trial and error and that's why they play this pre-conference schedule.

This isn't football where it's just plug and play positions. An early loss to an Elite 8 team from last year hurts you ZERO whereas it can kill you in football.

Y'all can say I'm off and dumb, that's fine. Just remember this next year when we lose games and everyone still saying, "we're a young team" cause it's been happening every year with this program.. do you think Duke is crying about being young?

He is probably a young poster and doesn't yet understand his role.
Once the team matures hopefully alessic7 will get it together.

Duke just lost this past week to a Gonzaga team that wasn't as young as they were, so there's that.

Calapari speaks about the struggles of a young team coming together damn near every season.

Gonzaga literally beat them with maturity and poise.

Duke was young and made mistakes.

End of the year, when duke is playing together, they may be unstoppabale.

OP is an idiot

Only took one loss and some of you are already planting the seeds to hate on Will Wade. Never change rant.

I'm not trying to hate on Wade, I love the enthusiasm he brings it's what we needed after JJ. Bottom line is young is not a valid excuse in college bball anymore. And LSU fans will use it this year, next year, and the years after

Young players at any sport make more mistakes than experienced players. The commentators spoke of FSU’s experience often during the game.

It really is a valid excuse lmao.

Having a bunch of 18 year olds who just started playing together going against a top 15 team full of 20-22 year olds who have been playing together for multiple seasons is a clear advantage for the older team.

Take Michigan for example, they lost to us and went on to the finals

Duke is not crying about being young, they admit they’re young and need to mature and get better. People say things are “excuses” but sometimes they can be facts.

You go through learning curves. You play games like this to get better late in the season. This is a learning game. We had tons of mistakes and still lost in OT on a bullshite 3 to a team we were supposed to lose to. Guys like Waters and Naz are still trying to figure out how to all play together

There are so many new players, many who are good enough to be in the rotation. It’s going to take more than 5 games to find the best roles. So let’s just start with that.

They are young, yea. Most nights they can get by on talent. A game like last night is a great coaching tool to show otherwise

I feel like LSU needs to release an instructional video on how to watch the basketball team this season like ESPN did when they started broadcasting the Canadien Football League. It seems like we have so many fans that don't understand how this works. It's pretty much the same as CPM tinkering with his lineups early in the season. The key is to be playing your best ball in conference play and heading into the tournament.
