Even if LSU was to somehow beat both top five teams Bama and Ga, it would likely have to beat both twice to win the title. Don’t say crazy can’t happen, we’re already there.

You’re saying that Bama will get into the playoffs without even winning its own division...again.

One loss Bama is basically a guarantee in the playoffs a long as Saban is there.

Bama is in unless they lose 2, maybe even 3.

What I was about to say. Bama not out of discussion with 2 losses. Bama could lose to AU and LSU and depending on where others sit could be in the playoff, even ahead of LSU or Auburn.

I’d rather lose to Bama and beat UGA, let Bama play UGA in the championship and sit pretty with 1 loss daring the selection committee not to send us to the playoffs with the insane schedule we played this year. We have already seen that winning your division doesn’t mean shite as far as making the playoffs, so why put yourself through playing these teams twice. And this is best case scenario, not something that I think can or should happen. It’s what I think would be the best and easiest route to the playoffs. We can potentially play UGA three times for fricks sake. Screw that.

Two loss Alabama wouldn’t be ranked ahead of an undefeated LSU in the playoffs, but it would probably be seeded 4th facing LSU first.

No 2 loss Bama is going to the playoff despite what many think.

And they won’t lose 2 so it’s moot

I am with you in undefeated LSU being no 1.

But what happens if LSU beats ga and Bama in BR but loses rematch to Ga in Atlanta? Too many scenarios but much like AU last year. ... Does one lose LSU out rank one loss BAMa ... no. What about two loss BAMA? .. ???

Well, if Bama does lose two and makes the playoffs over someones conference champion, there will be riots.

Honestly I think Bama has a natural built in immunity with the CFB playoff committee with one loss. Sucks? yup.. But it is what it is. Meaning? If LSU lets say beats bama. bama stays home, lsu plays for the title with bama essentially having a bye week. F'd up if you ask me. Its one of the built in flaws of the current format. wasn't deliberate or some maybe say it was.

People looked at me funny when I said it last year, Sab threw the iron bowl last year. Bama was in.

How do you fix it? Either do away with Conference title games which will never happen or make it a prerequisite that you have to win your conference title which imo I don't how I would feel about that. Some years there are two legit teams in a conference that should be in the playoff.

LSU vs Bama for 2011 title started this craziness and LSU vs Bama for 2018 title may force more changes.

Look. I'm a huge LSU fan and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade.

But, in college football this year, there almost isn't a top 5.

There's Alabama and then the next team listed should be like #9.

With Tua at QB, Bama is going to set fricking records for average margin of victory.

I don't like that reality. But, that's what's gonna happen.

College football landscape is littered with the broken promises of inevitability. Chokelahouma says hello?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves first beat Bama and UGA, and see where the ball bounces! But you are 100% right if we do beat both Bama & UGA we know we will get UGA for sure and Bama has so much street cred with everyone who counts that if they only lose to us "and that is a huge IF they look unstoppable" you know damn well they will be one of four playoff teams. Only way they aren't is if 3 other power five champs go undefeated which they won't.

Text exchange with my Bama buddy yesterday:

Me: Gus Bus is now 0-2 against arguably the worst coach in FBS.

Him: Yeah, but he's cost Saban a couple of conference titles. Still love to see him lose like that, tho.

Me: You are the only school in FBS where conference titles don't matter.

Him: Probably true. Loved when Spurrier always talked about the goal of winning conference titles.

3 teams from 1 conference aren't going to the playoffs.

True.

But I'm sticking with the prediction I actually made pre-season.

Bama is just going to annihilate their schedule. They've been better than everybody for several years now while playing without a QB.

Giving them Tua was some kind of sick joke.
