Your post is not totally wrong, but it continues to ignore the reason why most people are so angry....

It seems that it is convenient for you to look at "numbers' to justify your position...

so here it goes...
IT IS NOT ABOUT THE NUMBERS, it is about the manner in which our team is playing which is a direct reflection from coaching.

whether it is the HC directly or not, it does not matter, the BLAME goes to the head guy
--- players will play on the field in the way they practice, so SOMEONE is not paying attention to game plans and practices.

oh BTW, I am probably older than you..open your eyes.

Let's go a little deeper. In 2004....saban had THIRTEEN 1st and 2nd team pre-season sec players....we had THREE losses yet again....THREE. If four of your five years three losses is the best you can do...i don't buy into that as being elite. I know you guys would blow saban any day of the week if he would give you a chance.....but this is ridiculous.

I debunked this absolute stupidity in the other thread.

okay, then tell me how i'm wrong here....hell it could have been 14 guys if im not mistaken coming out of sec media days.....that is fact. Also fact is that they lost 3 games that year......which goes hand in hand with another fact that saban's second best year was a three loss season.

Now, if i'm wrong about you wanting to blow saban, i genuinely apologize for that and give you props for not engaging in that activity. But, there are many on here, that given the chance, would blow him.

Get hooked on phonics, grandpa. After that, take some grammar classes.

If you are going to call other people "idiots" it would help your cause if you didn't look like one.

You know, I value the opinion of everyone concerning the board and there are a lot of good posts...however, LSU has been playing football for over 100 years and have had success at various times during that span...I came on the scene in 1959 (when I can start remembering anything)and started following the Tigers at that time. My dad was in the service (from Bastrop, where I was born)and we went all over but would try and tune in on Sat nites in the Fall to p/u the tiger broadcasts no matter where we were...Cholly Mac had some very good teams in the 60's and not so much late in his tenure...Stovall was off and on, Arnsparger brought it back somewhat, and Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo (who had "some" success)were like yo-yo's (exception Hallman, consistantly bad)....then Nick Saban came on board and brought us glory like no other coach (Dietzel did for a couple of years with the NC)...I thought Miles was a good hire when Saban had to go "find himself" in the NFL but has proven to be a fantastic recruiter but a so-so coach...My LSU brain says to "hang-on" but looking at the bigger picture we have got it good at the "ole war skule" and should let the coach's do what they do...Miles has got two young men who dont have what it takes at this level to play QB but he has to make it work somehow...he knows he has the talent to pull out some wins but we all want the 52-0 scores all the time...i'm just ranting but guys, hang on...it will be fine...I have been thru the LSU football wars for 50 yrs...I have never had it so good...I loved Cholly Mac but we have never been better than we are now...

Honestly, that is the only unbiased parameter that we can use, or should use. Do I agree with everything Miles does? Hell no. I can't stand the fact his hard-headed arse is still sticking with JJ trying to run that outdated boring big ten offense bs.....but the bottom line is he wins, and again, you can spin that all you want...but results are the only objective format that can be used.

I agree with some of what you say. The Miles bashing gets old fast because it's so prolific.

I have tried to remain objective and not take a pro-Miles or anti-Miles stance. I support the team, no matter what. But I have to be honest, I find myself watching games and waiting for the screw-up that will lose us the game. I never used to do that. I used to wait for the miracle that would win it.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with this board and the negativity on here, but you can't watch some of these screw-ups over and over, and not begin to believe that there is something very wrong.

do you honestly think this is what LSU is running with 4 and 5 wide receiver sets?

The spread option to the short side of the field is a staple of the outdated big 10 offense?

Get a clue. I wish we were running the i-formation more.

I don't think there is any doubt we were a better coached team then. I do not like Saban simply because he was always looking at LSU as a stepping stone. But he put us on the path and Miles is slowly driving LSU off the cliff. I don't think the current Admin will allow what happened at the end of the 80s to happen now. I hope.

i've lost way too much money on lsu this season to bet them as a dog at home....i gonna remember you, and if this turns out to be correct than i'm gonna need your cell phone # for future betting advice.

The LSU offense has been incredibly painful to watch for the past 3 seasons...Our head coach gives no indication whatsoever that this'll ever change. Les has had luck on side, and that's cool. But as soon as that luck goes south on him, and it will, the W & L's ain't gonna look so great...I'd much rather Les be good than having to rely on luck.

The fact is Mauck leaving early put as a disadvantage. We had a rebuilding year and lost 2 games in the regular season. That was as good a regular season record-wise as any of Miles.

EVERYBODY knew that whoever came in as the next coach was taking over a program that was set up for greatness. Just look at the draft record over the next few years. The talent was here, the facilities were here, the fan support was here. To go back now and say that the program was mediocre at that point is just flat-out wrong.

which goes hand in hand with another fact that saban's second best year was a three loss season.

Saban's teams were head and shoulders above what Miles puts on the field. Nobody outside of a few LSU fans would dispute that.

If you hadn't made these comparisons, we wouldn't be talking about Saban. Saban's a jerk who will probably end up having to leave Bama when the players get tired of him.
