I'm not going to read this entire thread. I'm just going to say, yes you can. You can fire anybody anytime you want to.

Horse shite.
Miami fired a guy who won a NC. It took them 4 years but they did it. It will take them another 2 or three years before they fully recover.
If you know something is wrong, you should fix it right. You can pay now or you can pay later but you are going to pay.

Agree with JohnnyU especially when it took miracle losses by other teams to even get in the MNC game. Furthermore, losing that year to 2 mediocre teams. Miles has been plagued by continuous coaching blunders, game-management problems, and clock mismanagement since arriving and we live in a definite what have you done for me lately world. And please for some of you others, dont give me the old song and dance, that a good coach won't want to come here if our expectations are so high. that theory is unadulterated balderdash.

that team won the championship with heart. It had nothing to do with Les other than him getting lucky several times with calls during the season.

I haven't read this thread, but the fact is Les won a NC in his 3rd season at LSU. Now, I'm not happy with Les lately, and I've always defended him, but I'm not anymore. I still think Les deserves one more year here, I don't think firing him is the right thing to do. He has proven he can win with the right assistants, he needs to get off his arse, fire Crowton and Strud and get someone that can utilize the talent LSU has.
ETA: If Les does not fire Crowton, then there are serious problems and he needs to go.

Yes we won the BCSNC and did it as the nly 2 loss team ever. And those two losses were to Kentucky and Arkansas, two teams with far lesser talent than us. I defended Miles until this week. I tried to justify his stupid omissions and commisions in game day decisions. But those last two minutes were the worst two minutes in sports. We were the keystone cops of college football. No one can honestly say that this man has a firm grip on this team and that he is a competent coach any longer. Jerry Stovall was fired one season away from an Orange Bowl and National Coach of the Year. Hopefully Aleva has the balls of Brodhead.

Look, these coaches are big boys and they know the deal. Win or get fired. They have big egos and they know they're only as good as their last big win. Miles has allowed LSU to be be surpassed by Bama and Florida and there are more programs breathing down our backs.
Miles cannot keep the LSU football program at the level it was when it was handed to him, plain and simple. And I can guarantee you that there are guys out there who think they can do it better than him. We cannot wait for the slide to reach the bottom. Take corrective action now.
This.

The Ole Miss game started the clock. Les has one more year prove he knows how to utilize talent, call plays and manage the clock. First, he must(a) fire Crowton and hire an OC who can teach a solid offensive scheme that isn't so complicated nobody can grasp it and (b) get his OWN head back in the game. Les has apparently delegated every responsibility to some assistant, leaving him to be (what?) an administraor? I'm done with "Les speak" and goofy explanations that do nothing but confuse the question. GET BACK IN THE GAME, COACH!

We all wanted to believe and to buy into this guy. I was kinda with him even though I couldnt understand the way he talked and couldnt understand his reckless style. I should have listened to my gut feeling. This guy will never be able to overcome this debacle. Thats not to say that we may see some success next year because of the talent. But we will always have these type of games were we lose to inferior talent. Just like Natl champ year when we lost to Ark and KY. Keep him if you must but watch the talent begin to taper off and season tickets begin to be harder to sell. We can buy this guy out with a $5 charge to all season ticket holders.

That was the worst NC team in history.

Technically Coker was fired 5 seasons after his national title, 4 seasons after his last title game trip, for those saying Miami did this.
Les Miles is likely fired 3 seasons after his national title, if he doesn't turn it around next season.
and pretty much everyone agrees Coker got fired 2 years or so too late to save that program.

None of us believe Miles will be fired. He shouldn't have been hired, IMHO. But that is beside the point.
If we put him on the hotseat now, after we suck AGAIN next year, we can get rid of him then.
Duh

I'd gladly give back the 07 championship to get rid of his arse

And the Canes are still struggling after UM waited way too long to can him. Players/recruits see what's going on and sign elsewhere. It is much more difficult to return a program to prominence once that occurs.

everyone wants to fire a coach? who's doing nothing but protecting his QB...IMO thats where the blame goes,he's held on to the football for 9 seconds on that sack at the end of the game, which if smart enough KNOWS you cant take a sack at that point of the game,he's done it all year..we all know why JJ having to play so early in his career,it all goes back to RP..he's set this program back 3-4 years..now coach needs to look for smarts in a QB,if you dont have the brains to know you cant take the sack, and You dont spike the ball with 1 second to go,i am sure JJ has played football since he was 7-8 years old,and does'nt need a coach to tell you not to spike the damn ball with 1 second to go.

irrelevant. people are actually asking me if he is throwing games. he needs a mental evaluation..i'm not saying this as a dig. I'm dead serious. he looks like he's on medication and it's not working or mixed up. something is going on with miles either physically or mentally. i hope he gets it fixed because he doesnt look well. i could tell something was wrong from sec 103 @ the game. ole miss fans couldnt believe what they were seeing.

You Nega-Tigers need to answer these questions before anybody takes your rants seriously.
Please speak your mind. You are among friends.
Yeah, no other Coach will be competitive enough to think he is better than Miles.

He'll have a chance to right the ship after he has to fire all of his offensive assistants.
What quality assistants are going to come to LSU with Miles being n the hot seat and possibly a one year tenue?
