So you're saying that all these calls and texts are OK and Rome is wrong?
Someone needs to prove that it's actually LSU fans who are doing it, so far that has not been proven. I don't agree with doing it, but we have no idea if it's a prank by FLA fans or just other douchebags who have nothing better to do, but we don't know for a fact that it's LSU fans doing it.

I hate Rome too, but at least he never threatened the lives of 18-21 year old kids.

Has someone really done this?

I have zero doubt that at least one of the messages on Cooper's phone threatens to come to his house, kick his arse, cut his brakes, or something.

Tebow claimed it happened 2 years ago.

But ok...here's the thing. I think most will admit that far too many LSU fans are idiots. That's not to say that other programs don;t have them too...they do. I tend not to care about the BAMA's and the UGA's and the Ole Misses that act the arse because they do not reflect badly on me. BUUUUUUUUUT...we've all seen the inevitable stories that float around after teams come to Tiger stadium. Some of it seems plausible, and some of it reads as total made up internet bullshite.

With that bieng said, are we SUUUUUUUURE LSU fans are responsible for what's been accused, or could this simply be some gamesmanship on the part of Florida to get LSU to talk about something else? Remember how unfocused the entire program felt the week leading up to the BAMA game in 2002 after the fake Saban speech hit the 'net?

In my opinion, this sort of speculation is every bit as goofy, as folks trying to text Florida players.

If someone's really doing this, file appropriate charges, and trace where it's coming from. Easy enough to do.

Otherwise, I'm sort of with Saint on this.

Are you kidding me? It's humiliating.

Might as well have a camera pan on several LSU fans this weekend while picking their nose and eating their boogers. I feel the same way right now with the phone incident (yet again).

There have been people on here that have said they've already received texts with Florida player's numbers encouraging them to call so maybe, just maybe, there are people doing this.

This. And I'd be 100% behindg pressing charges to any asshat doing that.

But simply tossing out the accusation without any proof is just as bad.

Well I guess it's speculation, but come on. You think people are leaving messages saying "Hey man I just wanted to let you know I have a lot of respect for your program and hope for a good, clean game this Saturday." Maybe a few.

Seems overkill IMO. I mean, they aren't really going to cut his brakes. They're just being dicks

I wasn't disagreeing with you on that point, but your qualifying statement before that doesn't mean that the asshats in our fan base get off easy. As far as I'm concerned Brett Mic heals could call us asshats for texting opposing players and he'd still be right.

Well get over it/yourself. EVERY fan base has young/immature/passionate fans that do stupid shite for attention. This just happened to catch hold with some LSU fans that have gotten the "wanted" publicity out of the stunt. By bitching you are giving them what they "want". Thats all i'm saying. I thought it was a little funny the first time around, yes it has gotten old and will hopefully die, but as long as it's being brought up and given attention, it won't.

Seems like no more effort than going to the press about it.

I personally would rather see these dipshits exposed, if people really are texting "threats" to other players.
