This is the crux of it... Do I think we paid/pay players? Hell yeah
Has anything in any of these Yahoo pieces given any sort of non-circumstantial evidence that such a payment happened? Not yet

gtho with that. Show me.
If this was any other coach, we'd be screaming that he tried to pay a player. You have to be naïve to believe otherwise.
HOWEVER, nothing he's said proves he paid or tried to pay a player.

The NCAA is not a court of law. They don't have to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt.

Nah, but its a really good reason to start an investigation. I'm sure they'll be getting tips from Bruce Pearl and Rick Barnes and pointers on who to interview.

They have to prove an NCAA violation happened though... And if they couldn't with Sean Miller, what makes you think they could with what we've seen so far?

Did Will Wade bend the rules? Yeah probably. There’s too much smoke. I have a feeling he was thinking I have to get some big names in and win now. Then once our name is established we can recruit on that instead.
Having said that frick the NCAA. We ridin. Dale Brown had to fight these arse hats while we were rolling in the 80s. As long as caterpillar eyebrows is running the NCAA we have a shot to be protected.

Brown kindly referred to them as the "Gestapo".

Probably so, but this shite is far bigger than Will Wade. How far down the rabbit hole the NCAA wants to go will be interesting. So far, they seem to be very, very lenient.

This is essentially my perspective and what gives me hope that we will come out of this OK. Does the NCAA want to open up this can of worms? Or do they want to make an example of LSU and ignore the big boys, further hurting their credibility? Do they even care about being credible anymore?

They never proved that strippers were given money to entertain players in the UofL case. Matter of fact, a court of law cleared the strippers. They were facing criminal charges for prostitution/sexual acts with minors and the case was dismissed for lack of evidence, yet the NCAA still hammered UofL like they've never hammered any school in history.

Yep, I alluded to this earlier.
However I'm thinking this might have pushed things into the "too big to ignore" category. But it's not going to affect this years tourney.

Bet this just brings the team together more and they go on a F U tour in the tournament. Embrace the bad guy mentality.

The strong offer could be anything. John Brady offered Stromile Swift something no one else could - a home game in Shreveport for LSU so his family and fans could see him there.

It would be hilarious if LSU and Wade got cleared in this because the recruit in question's last name doubles as an adjective

Kansas said they'd get Zion's dad a job, housing, and money to get Zion for 10 months. That explicitly implicates Kansas and implies Duke may have done the same. Clemson was the major leader for Zion until they weren't.

I would assume the NCAA would dig deeper and do some interviews as well.
Interviews with whom? Who involved is going to reveal anything to the NCAA?

Can someone explain how this is any different than the Cam Newton shite?
Agreed. In Newton’s case I believe his dad and another guy were soliciting like $150k for his letter of intent signature and the NCAA ruled it was cool since Cam didn’t know about it
