Trying to decide which one to buy any help would be appreciated. Which one has the best sports? Rivals and etc. I know about the merger but I am still trying to decide.

I like XM. The SEC and MLB. Baseball is the difference. Sirius has the NBA and NFL.

The merger happened last week. They will now be one company...so get one and you will get the best of both worlds. There is more info on their websites.

They are merging but it won't be until 2015 or something til you can get both services on 1 device. They will stay as seperate companies til then. Reason being is that they are using 2 totally different technologies to make it happen. New satelites, radios, etc. need to be created for them to be on the same platform. It sucks for XM people! Per Sirius CEO Mel Karmazin on Howard Stern show last Wednesday.

XM because of college football and CNBC.

Sirius b/c of the NFL and Rivals radio....and Howard Stern.

XM has more college football that i care about, but i am always home to watch those games on TV anyway. The radio feed does me no good.

+1

I'm always home to catch the games on Saturday anyway. Bill King and Rivals Radio alone is worth getting Sirius.

I listened to that Howard Stern as well. I thought he said that getting every station would not be capable until 2015, but that they were working on making packages to get certain things on XM if you have Sirius? I think 2015 was the more the target date for new satelites. I know Bababooie mentioned Sirius people want the MLB package and his reply was, "We are going to work on offering packages to let Sirius subscribers get certain XM programs."

Excellent post.

You want to know what is so awesome about Rivals Radio? For instance....tomorrow....we won't have to hear a lick about Brett Favre's biscuit headed arse.

Truth. Its like a sanctuary from the TMZ-ification of sporting news.

I got Sirius to listen to LSU games that aren't televised because I live out of state. They do have good programming, but the loss of SEC coverage was a big blow. I could care less about the big 10. So I'd say XM.

the fact is whatever provider people have they are going to say that one is better. I have sirius and like it a lot, but I am sure I would like xm just as much.

I'VE HAD BOTH-THE MUSIC AND SPORTS ON SIRIUS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN XM UNTIL THEY DROPPED LSU. THEN I DROPPED THEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE LSU AVAILABLE SOON ALA CARTE. SO I'M GOING BACK TO SIRIUS. I HATED XM.

Gospel. That's all that was on ESPN radio from 10 am to noon. I'm sick of that and every other NFL tidbit.
