Make no mistake about it. Several teams including WVU, Oregon, Bama, and Uthug all have us circled on their calendar. This year is going to be a bitch to win the West much less compete for all the marbles.

we held them to around 180 total yards and 4-5 turnovers. The only reason the game was close was due to the tiger's anemic offense

You can look at it however you want, but they were in that game when it mattered in the 4th quarter. Their offense is probably actually improved, while LSU will look like it's usual self if JJ is leading the attack. If you haven't noticed we don't blow anyone out these days, so expect a close game at the very least.

Nah, it will be much worse than that.

That was the no. 2 ranked rush d, and a good overall d in general.

We'll rock them.

every off season it is the same ole tune. "wait till we lose the first 3" or "when we get beat down by (fill in any team on schedule) you guys will be pissed!"

Miles then proceeds to have double digit wins all the while managing to get under the Miles haters skin. I love it.

When LSU is 1-3 after 4, you all will be callign for Miles head. it will not be a bad record, we should still win our side of the conference, BUT brace yourselves.

They lost 2 of the 3 D-Linemen, both LB'ers, their Bandit, one CB and the FS.

The other side of the ball, Noel Devine (LSU kept him down for most of the game), a WR and an OG.

Should still be a good game.

wishful thinking...
When has LSU ever rocked a legitimate team running a spread?

Game will be close as hell IMO, Holgersons offenses are no joke

Wake me up next time a JJ-led offense isn't anemic.

That's what I am saying. I would love to be optimistic at this point, but I can't get excited until something is proven on the field.

I’ve said on here multiple times that WVU will be very good next year. They hired the best offensive coordinator in the nation and have tons of skill players. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they ended up being top 15 by the end of the season.

Having said that, LSU is not the best matchup for them. They’re going to want to beat teams through the air. Holgerson is more balanced than most Airrade/Leach disciples, but he still knows his best talent is at QB and WR as opposed to OL and RB. Problem with that is it plays right into LSU’s hands with our skill at DB.

I still say we’ll beat them, but it’s not gonna be this blowout people think it will be. It’s going to be on the road and WVU is not a friendly place to play. They’ve got tremendous skill players and an elite offensive coordinator. They played us close last year at our place and I think they’ll improve more on offense than we will. The question will be how their defense is. They lost a ton of guys and likely don’t have the depth we do so can they replace them adequately? If they can then they could beat us as their offense will be much better than ours.

The score is misleading. The Gold team was 1st and 2nd team offense. The blue team was 1st and 2nd team defense. 1st O went against 2nd D and vice versa. The offense could also pick up a point for a first down. That said, the offense is still sick. The only huge hole at defense will be NT with the loss of Neild. But we have two of the best DEs in the country

Jake may be unpopular but wva will be a close game to the very end. I think we'll win but it's a good squad with a good oc and it's in their backyard.

I think you guys are selling Holg's offense way too short and underestimating a WVU team that should be improved from last year. A team we barely beat at home and are on the road for this year.

My brother-in-law is a WVU grad and he doesn't seem this confident.

Their defense was gutted up the middle at all three levels.

Great NG - gone
Three year starter at DE - Gone
Best linebacker - Gone
Other emotional leader at LB - Gone
Best CB - Gone
Best S and best overall defensive player in my opinion - Gone

Bruce Irvin is a great pass rusher and also has the build of a Kenyan. The key to that defense is three bulls up front and stout run stuffers at LB. They don't have that this year.

was this before or after the qb tried to get the snap from the guard? our defence dominated that game. the score was never in doubt.

And defense should be worse this year with the departure of KS, Nevis and PP. Plus it is on the road and we still have JJ at QB. Remains to be seen if our offense has improved at all.
