WVU fan needs a little help...

Ill be flying in early Thursday morning for the WVU game and Im looking for a few things that are a must see. Ive been to New Orleans, but want to experience LSU. Not only am I a West Virginia fan, but I am a college football fan. I want to see everything LSU has to offer. I know about a lot of the tradition, and Im excited to see and experience it. Ive heard so much about the gameday experience, its going to be great to see it first hand. Im so glad that the game is at night!
So where can I see some of the traditions, history, etc...? Is there a LSU hall of fame, or hall of traditions that may have things to see from the LSU athletics? Any specific restaurants that I need to check out? Anything you can help with I appreicate!
Looking forward to it, cant wait!!!!!
Go 'EERS!

Head over to Coates Hall near the center of campus, head over to the mens restroom, step into a stall, tap your foot 3 times, and prepare for the experience of a lifetime (you're likely to meet former uga great david pollock).
you're welcome in advance.

definitely see Mike the Tiger at his habitat....
just walk around campus and check out the scene.....you'll never see anything like it in Morgantown.....be prepared to hear a lot of "tigerbait"....if you stay cool, smile and say back whatever y'all say, you'll probably be handed a beer and invited to have something good to eat....

The Chimes is right by campus and has some great food. However, it will be packed for pretty much the whole day. I'd try something a little further away from the action, maybe TJ Ribs on Acadien.
If you have kids, they'll get a kick out of Mike the Tiger's cage as well. I'm not sure what point they take him out, but he should be there in the late morning. Cage is right by the basketball arena.

Get on campus early Saturday. Walk around and take it all in. Prepare to be tiger baited. Watch the tiger band come down victory hill prior to them entering the stadium.
There really is nothing like Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.

get to the stadium early and just walk around. Check out the players and band coming down victory hill near Mike the tigers habitat. You will be tigerbaited, it is all in good fun...just be cool and laugh.

What part of W.Va. are you from. I'm "one quarter-West Virginian." LOL. I would most definitely walk around the stadium and go see Mike the Tiger. Take a stroll through the Memorial Oak Grove near the Student Union. Each one of those trees were planted in memory of an LSU student killed in WW1. There's also a memorial to fallen Tigers on the Parade Grounds just north of the Union. I haven't been in the Union since it's latest rebirth, but I've heard it's nice and more mall-like. It was a hang-out for Arab students when I was in school there. The Mississippi River levee is a bit west of the stadium. Stop in the Chimes on Highland Road and grab a bite to eat and a beer...or two.

Around two hours before kickoff, watch the band run down victory hill, on North Stadium drive between Tiger Stadium and the PMAC (basketball arena)

-At some point eat at The Chimes at the North Gates of campus. Good food lots of beer!!!
-Go around campus the Friday evening before just to see the people start to show up. Then go to bed at a reasonable time, Saturday will be a long day.
-Get there early game day (7:30 to 8:00), you will not be the only ones.
-Go see Mike in the morning at his palace, he should be out before it gets hot.
-Find out when the band comes down the hill, be there 45 mintes before.
-Walk around all day and see the tailgate set-ups, they vary greatly.
-Don't be afraid to go up to people and talk about thier set-ups, it will likely get you free food and beer.
-Halls' of Fame is for other trips... This is football season!!!!

Glad to finally see a WVU fan not act like an a-hole.
I know it's been said, but go see Mike. His habitat is right by the PMAC across the street from Tiger Stadium.
The LSU Athletic Hall of Fame is in the Athletic Administration building also in the same area.
Walk-Ons has become a nice little place. Check that out if you really like fried food. TJ Ribs and the Chimes have better food all around. Mike Anderson's is good for seafood.
Check out the Indian Mounds and Victory Hill on game day. Also, be a good sport that way you'll get invited to a tailgate and get to eat some of the best food you've ever had.

TJ Ribs buddy. THey've got all kinds of great LSU things in there and the food is awesome.
Visit Mike, always cool. A walk around the stadium always seems to give me a incredible sense of history.
Walks around the campus too.

To answer an unanswered question of yours... yes, there is an LSU athletics museum. It's on the east side of campus, on University Lake.
It's called the Andonie Museum.
LINK
It's pretty far from the stadium, unfortunately. It's best visited on Fridays before gameday, not on gameday itself.
Lots of good places to eat. As other have said, TJ's, The Chimes, the Pastime has good pizza.
Be friendly with the LSU fans who tease you on gameday. That's the best policy, and it's the policy that will get you fed and get you booze. Just laugh and tell them that you're happy to be there, and looking forward to the game.
Have fun. We're happy that you're coming down. (seriously!)

Get there early, and walk around taking in the sites. Mike the tiger's cage is amazing, personally an overlooked attraction is the minor league quality baseball stadium. Please be willing to take some ribbing, you will be Tiger Baited relentlessly, but it is usually in good nature and if you have a good reaction you will make new friends and eat better than most people deserve.
Just before game time, as the excitement comes to a peak, stop for a minute and take in just how big it is. I see it 3-4 times a year myself and the scope of it all still amazes me.
Be in the stadium for pregame, might not effect you like it does us Tiger's but it will give you goosebumps when the band turns and blast it out.
Crowd drowns it out a bit
Have a great trip.
BTW: as with most all fan bases, we have our share of people who take this shite way to serious and act unbearable. If you encounter these, don't give them the satisfaction of a response, keep walking and stop at the next tailgate.

basically, LSU fans can be great. But there are some assholes. Just don't let the few assholes ruin your trip.
