You may think that, but those folks are the backbone of this country in electricity...coal.

Proud folks, but they do have major issues with poverty and lack of education...but if you are ever in a fight, they like you, they will have your back.

They hate outsiders...but damn loyal Kentucky Wildcat fans...as in WV for WVU.

Coach Cal just said on the radio he loves it here in KY, he is a grandson of a coal miner...it is in his blood.

Hater.

But it is true, his mom and dad grew up in coal towns, they were the first to graduate highschool.

He has said he has had dandelion soup, and teust me, only folks in Kentucky and WV know what that is.

Just him. I think he is a scummy crook.

I have massive respect for KY hoops. I am disappointed that he is at the helm. I think you deserve more class.

More than I ever cared to. Went to school there for a semester.

ah, the infamous 4 month chlamydia crisis of 2009. we remember it well here in these hills and hollers. the burn lingers for many a mountain man (and woman).

I get it, because I am in it everyday.

I see it with my own eyes.

It is no different then the poor regions of Louisiana in cajun country or in the delta triangle.

Every region has issues, ours just happen to be in the hills and hollars.

Those folks are loyal and hard working, just need a better break...and they have joy through UK and WVU, because with the calls from Cawood Ledford in the day was the outlet.

I've been to West Virginia once about 4 years ago. I was there to bury my Sergeant, it was a full military honors funeral in Beckley. Although it was a bad time in my life I was amazed at how beautiful West Virginia is and how every person I met treated me and the guys in my squad like family. We may be from different states, have our own cultures, and our own stigmas, but we're all Americans. With that said Geaux Tigers and Whoop that mountaineer arse
