Because it would be reported if they had. You really think WDSU would be the first to know and hold on to the news until 10:30?
Well, it wouldn't surprise me if an interview had happened by now...
That said, I already said there's no way they offered Stoops tonight.

He had it wrong, or WDSU had it wrong.

Norman - I've learned OU Defensive Coordinator Mike Stoops is scheduled to interview for the same position at LSU with head coach Les Miles. Sources tell me it's expected Stoops will be offered the job when the two meet in Dallas tonight at 6 p.m. If offered, Stoops would take a couple of days to make the decision whether to leave brother Bob's staff, where he has served the last three seasons as associate head coach and defensive coordinator.

Although hard to confirm, I was told Stoops was offered the Buckeye job, and that he expects to be offered the LSU job by Miles.

no bs rummy i talked to mike detilier earlier tonight and he told me the job is stoops if he wants it ...and he said he thought stoops would be a good hire ...
also said he didnt like CP for the job ..
said he would love to see coach O get the job and that he would be a great hire (i agree but we know they are friends) but also said les would not offer him ...
he also said chief left for a more stable job , which got me thinking is clm seat getting warm .....
also said he didnt like CP for the job ..

Literally, non of that makes sense, except for maybe the Orgeron part.
Not saying that you didn't talk to Detellier, but he was on the radio this morning and had the chance to throw all of this out there, and he did not. From what I've heard from him, he just regurgitates what he sees on here, but makes it sound like he has some sort of inside knowledge.

Like I said, I'm not doubting that you talked to him, but I'm not taking Detellier's word on this...

Buckeye job?
I think I saw it was when Urban first took the job.

Why? Did he just say "I don't like CP for the job." ? I usually ask for what reasons...Mike Detillier isnt all-knowing.
Also, why is Stoops a better hire? I don't see a clear difference.
CP is considered highly knowledgeable on spread offenses and worked as a consultant for many teams this past season. What about Stoops? OU got torched this year, and they arent lacking talent, especially when you consider the Big 12 talent level.

like somebody posted earlier , it seems like none of these local sports reporters have anymore info than people on this site.... until the hire is made i guess no one outside the program knows ....
Posted on 1/4/15 at 1:04 am to section414
Supposedly no one outside bass, Miles and stoops knew about the interview then a OK TV reporter says stoops interviewed and was offered. Sounds like that came directly from the stoops camp so I wouldnt trust it

I'm very scared that we're gonna hire stoops, he's is the epitome of a mediocre hire. If we hire him we will be stuck with sub par shite for at the minimum 2 years. CP is definitely the better option, and I'm just hoping Miles isn't do dumb to frick this up.

Also I suspect my tigger's source is detillier as well
Just a hunch though

Maybe only one year. If the season is bad enough, Les and staff will be fired.
Posted on 1/4/15 at 1:08 am to Rtowntiger
Well we don't actually know any of these people and their is some chatter about CP being tougg to work with

it was a 2 minute conversation , and the way i took it was that he thinks hes just not right for lsu , not that hes not a good coach ....
then he immediately said that he liked stoops
after that i asked him about coach O ...
then he praised chavis and said how good of a job he did with losing so much talent the last couple years to the draft ...
then i asked why chavis left , his answer was a more stable job ...
that was it ....
