Fine. But do you have a position on Stoops?

I mean, you know as well as I do that if Stoops is hired and actually does well, you'll happily remind everyone bitching about him right now.

So, what's your take on him? I'll be candid with mine.

I legit think his OK numbers are deceptive because of the type of football being played in the Big 12. So, he's almost certainly not as bad as it appears. And, if he were hired, I would hope it was because of his experience with the spread.

That said, I do worry that given that there are higher quality guys out there, hiring Stoops would be an indication of poor decision making by Miles OR......an indication that the story behind Chavis leaving has other DCs spooked.

I know his dad, who has alzheimers, lives there. CP coached in Dallas for 7 years so he chose to remain there.

If you're, at all, not super-critical about everything Les Miles related, then you think he can do no wrong.

It is the Anti-Miles mantra.

Say one good thing about him, and you're a sunshine pumper that wears nothing but P&G glasses, who is okay with mediocrity, and happy with the decline of the program...

Hiring Mike Stoops is the definition of the #decline

Well, I would point out that there are some who routinely claim to have issues with Miles(while they defend him to the death) but when asked what those issues are,,,,,get VERY vague.

And, they also seem quite adept at taking no position on things going forward thus allowing themselves the convenience of never taking a position counter to what Miles ends up doing thus making defending him easy REGARDLESS of what he does.

Maybe, but that camp is exceedingly small, whereas the Anti-Miles camp is exceedingly large...

I really hope it isn't stoops.

The only positive could be his experience with seeing multiple spread teams and trying defend against them.

I don't know of his recruiting abilities.

He's more of an unknown that I don't think lsu should go with.

I actually think Steele would be a better hire.

HUGE mistake if true..that D hasn't been as good since Vennebles left.
The same Stoops that gave up 521 yds to JF and 700 yds to A&M in'13 CB?

I'm fine saying I'm in the anti-Miles camp but that doesn't mean I don't like ANYTHING he does.

For example, the man is some sort of damned recruiting Savant.

And, frankly, unlike most on this board who are anti-Miles, I PREFER a team capable of running it down your throat. I find NOTHING more annoying than being unable to consistently pick up 3rd and 2 or score near the goal line. Note though that I don't mean RUN HEAVY.......that's probably where I diverge from Miles.

I just think Miles takes it to some absurd extreme.
