for PT and certain formations/groupings... For me it is clearly obvious our #1 is Dee Anderson and #2 is Justin Jefferson.. #3/4 Chase/Marshall.. #5 Sullivan.. EVERY time Dee needed to make a huge play he did.. Not his fault he's only on the field 30% of the snaps.. He was SEVERELY underutilized so people like Sullivan could not make a catch and play like he's 5'8".. Am I the only one who noticed this?!?!?!

i am not sure we don't play the best 4-5 WRs like most teams. It seems like when Dee or Marshall make a catch they don't play for the next 3 series. Most teams play their best WRs the majority of the time.

We play too many WRs and none get comfortable and press and drop balls. Most good teams usually throw mostly to 2 or 3 and that's it. A&M beat us in overtime basically just throwing to one.

After 12 games, this staff still doesn't seem to know who our best 5 are.

You have Jefferson, and then its all over the place.

Seems like Jefferson is always on the field and gets open really easy.. Dee and Chase make the tough, contested catches routinely when thrown 2.. think they should be the 3 on the field.. Sullivan is the weakest big bodied receiver I've ever seen... lol

Dee Anderson is ok. But he is not better than Jefferson. He should've been the top WR for as long as he been at LSU but was in the dog house for so long, he didn't develop as quicker.

Ive been saying this all year. We need to play 3 constant wr's and rotate the other guys when we go 4-5 wr sets.

If you look around college football, i think lsu is the only school that rotates every receiver every other play

Dee got his first TD as a Tiger, if I recall correctly.

I’ve been saying all year that, at least physically, Dee looks like a Megatron clone on the field.

Can’t figure out why SE doesn’t use him more to create obvious mismatches against smaller DBs.

He is also one of the more consistent at actually catching (yes he’s had some drops like the rest).

It does seem that they are just rotating players to keep everyone happy which would hurt continuity with Burrow, but there are other issues. Early in the season Dee looked like a beast and I commented he was going to take the next step and then he drops 2 passes in a row. Then it looks like Chase is going to breakout and has the sure hands and body control then he drops the ball or can't get separation.

Sullivan has no idea how to utilize his size and it's maddening. He had a sure TD if he plants his feet instead of drifting. He easily could have high pointed the ball and he didn't use his body to shield the DB.

I was on board with the Sullivan hire because he was supposed to be a great tactical/fundamental coach which we need and I have been very underwhelmed. I'm also very concerned with Joseph taking over as the sole WR coach. He was hired to recruit N.O. and I have little faith in him as a WR coach.

I commented the exact same thing on previous posts about Sullivan. He's 6'6" and plays like he's 5'7". If it's 2 receiver set, it should be Jefferson and Anderson, 3 wr set(add chase or Marshall), those are your 4 best wr's. They are rotating all these guys to keep them happy and the rapport/timing with Burrow is off from receiver to receiver.

Yeah. I think Anderson has the physical tools to be great and I would almost force the issue by playing him more. Jefferson is the most reliable and best route runner. I would keep working Sullivan as a red zone WR, but be clear that if he doesn't play big he won't see the field. I really thought Chase would emerge as well and overtake the older players, but he's been erratic. I expect him to be a big time player next season.

The amazing thing is the odd man out right now is the #1 HS WR Marshall. He may have been slowed by his SR season injury so 2019 could be a big year for him as well.

Bottom line is with Emery and Davis coming 2019 we are going to be as talented in our skill positions as any team. Our coaches have no excuse to not be an offensive powerhouse in 2019. They will have an offense that talent wise rivals 2013 so we need to see that type of production. I know that's a high bar, but that's what I see.

I agree with your assessment and I do think Chase and Marshall will emerge and be consistent contributors next year. I'd actually play Marshall over Sullivan. The only question mark will be the o-line again, they have a lot of improving to do. Saw so many mistakes made by them this year. Mental mistakes were glaring besides technique, strength and conditioning.

I posted this in a separate thread a few weeks ago. I wish we went with our most consistent three WR's (Dee, Marshall and Jefferson) with Chase/Sullivan in 4-5 wide sets. Dillon's hands are very sketchy and Giles hasn't shown me squat.

Lost in the shuffle is that the fans are getting what they have been asking for, very frequent 3-4 WR sets!

Giles must be on several sides of that dice

He would make them circle up around him, close his eyes, spin and point. the first 5 played that game.

Next level really.
