Didn't LSU have a noise meter in the PMAC when we used to pack that place for basketball games?
Yep!.. Was just about to post I was a fan of that one, but I was a kid at that time.

I remember watching games on television and the announcers would always show it and talk about how loud the PMAC was getting.

Part of the issue with that is that most students go home for thanksgiving. Not saying they shouldn't be there but just something to consider

Yeah, but it's now part of LSU lore. Tiger Stadium is associated with loudness. And like some have mentioned, it might invite more fan participation and endurance.
So in the spirit of the earthquake game, instead of just having a normal decibel meter... have something that accomplishes the same results but with the visual looking like a seismograph.

Tiger Stadium gets as loud as ever when needed.
Which is all it has EVER been.
It's easy to tell the posters who are full of shite, who pretend it was constantly packed and deafening for four quarters "back in the day" when, say, we were beating Rice 77-0.
ETA, A decibel meter in Tiger Stadium is an awful idea, though.

I could imagine the outrage had this board been around when LSU decided to bring a band and cheerleaders to football games too.

This thread comes up all the time. I think it has been confirmed that a real decibel meter would probably shame us because of too many people leaving early and the large portion of old fricks that don't want you to stand up at all during a game.
