He's won 2 SEC titles. You have to have a lot of things beyond your control with this BCS system go your way to win a national title.

If you don't think winning 77 of your games and 2 SEC titles at UGA is solid work, then you're not football people.

Tuberville, no doubt!! richt is not a bad coach, first off no one can win them all. Everyone will have a down year thats just football or any sport for that matter.TT won with players that LSU would not even recruited,we compete againest no one, bama and saban get the creme of the crop in that state although AU did a good job last year. Out of every SEC school i hate AU the worst..there fans suck..So for me to say tuberville that a huge step...

NO MORE OLD SEC COACH RECYCLING! if we have to make a change, we need to go with young/fresh blood.

and he's produced the all-time winningest QB in Division 1-A, a Heisman Trophy winner at FSU (as OC), and the #1 overall pick

I'd be surprised if he's fired. I think he'd have to have a losing season for that to happen.

I'm not saying I want Richt. He's just been highly successful, in my book.

You don't know that.

My answer is I'll worry about coaching changes later.

I would not favor Richt or Tuberville. I would hope we could get a better coach if the position was available.

As far as Richt, he is underachieving at UGA as it is. If he can't get over the hump with UGA, then he fairs only slightly better to do it at LSU.

I've said for a long time that if Les Miles leaves LSU it will be on his own terms. That being said, I do believe that if Michigan is interested in him after this season, he's gone.

My choice to replace him?

Pelini.

You guys are nuts. I live in Alabama and trust me, if you lived here during TT's tenure at Auburn, you would not want him at LSU. He is a complete jackass.

Richt is a fantastic coach. UGA would have never been good without him.

Good, but not great. There is no way Georgia fans can be OK with not at least playing for a title under Richt. He just can't get it done. Also, I've never seen a coach that gets so much respect that has been blown out in so many games. I mean humiliated.

What yall think about Richt or Tuberville at LSU?

Richt is 2-7 against Fla, hasn't been in the SEC CG since 2005, and has 14 defeats in the last four yrs.

And Tub.

This is a joke, I hope.

2 things. First of all, to the OP, I understand this is hypothetical but it's pointless bc Richt would never be the coach at LSU. In fact, he will likely be the HC at UGA until he retires. But even if that were not the case, Richt would NEVER be the head coach at LSU, I can promise you that.

Second, I see a lot of you say "Richt, probably not. Tuberville though I would say yes". Why? What in the world would lead you to that conclusion? Do yall not realize that Richt has won a lot MORE than tubs, not to mention is 5-3 against him head to head. I'll never understand what people see in Tubs that is not equal/better in Richt.

No. Another overrated coach in the SEC. I can't name the times his Georgia teams were expected to contend for NCs but folded early, then started going on late runs. His teams always started slow and they never lived up to expectations. Especially with the excellent classes he was bringing in.

I personally think Richt is a solid coach, but there's no way Richt survives at Georgia if he doesn't turn it around in 2010 and 2011. He may "want" to retire at Georgia, but that won't be up to him.

I wasn't implying LSU could "steal" Richt from Georgia. Richt will stay at Georgia until he gets fired or retires, my OP was operating under the assumption that he gets fired from UGA.
